Mutant tarns are one of the various slayer monsters found in Emps-World. They require 95 Slayer in order to be attacked. They can be assigned to the player as a slayer task by Jossik and Duradel. Mutant tarns can be found deep within the Rellekka slayer dungeon, located past the Warped terrorbirds in a room right before the Aquanites. Players can jump across the chasm leading to the Cave horrors and squeeze through the crevice found in the room containing the Ankou to reach them quicker; however, they will need 35 or 55 Agility respectively and an active membership to do so.

Mechanics

Mutant tarns are not encountered right away; instead, players will come across the non-aggressive Tarns and will have to attack them first in order to start the actual fight. Once attacked, Tarns will commence a short transformation and recover any lost health from the first attack dealt. Once a Mutant tarn, they will use two types of attacks against the player: the first is a standard melee attack, while the second is a standard magic attack with a long, delayed animation.
