Suggestions & Ideas / Idea for achievement diaries
« on: July 01, 2017, 08:46:17 pm »
This is just a rough idea of what achievement diaries could look like. They could be divided into areas and cities inside the area.
There are easy and hard tasks on each city. Easy and medium tasks are combined because you will level up rather quickly at the start so lets just call them easy.

You would be able to follow your progress inside your quest tab. Maybe make it so that you're able to switch between the current tab and achievement diary tab by pressing a button?
All tasks would first appear red but the ones you've completed would turn green.

There are 3 main areas (excluded Wilderness from this) Misthalin, Asgarnia and Desert. All those areas have some cities inside them that contain some tasks you can do. Easy tasks basically being tasks that introduce you to low level content.

Easy tasks could reward you with some starter stuff that helps you at the beginning and help you to progress. Hard tasks could contain something more rewarding and useful stuff. Example reward from Desert hard tasks could be Gloves of Silence which grant you 10% bxp while Thieving. (Desert area being members only area and thieving being members only skill so it would make sense.) After you've completed all tasks in an area (Asgarnia for example) you would get additional rewards perhaps.

Main point of this suggestion is not the list of tasks I wrote, they are just examples. Point is the overall layout of how it would look like. Tasks inside cities while cities being inside a larger area.

« on: January 02, 2016, 07:09:48 pm »
what is the weapon you use at the melee bossing gear?
That's elemental whip, it's just a stronger version of a normal whip. Normal whip, zs, anger weapons and d hasta can also be used.

You generally won't get muted for it if it's on a 5 second timer or slower. Though you will be told to turn it off if you aren't in spam areas such as the duel arena or the GE. If you don't listen to those warnings you can get muted for it. Tl;dr: It's allowed.

Guides / Magic training guide
« on: November 23, 2015, 03:42:36 pm »

I see a lot of people alching to 99 magic, it annoys the hell out of me because there are ways to level magic that are much faster and much more entertaining than just sitting there and clicking the same pixel the entire day. This guide will contain all viable ways of training magic, some are cheap, some cost a lot and some even make you money. Pick whichever suits you best.

Why train magic?

Some people wonder why you should bother training magic in the first place. I'll just list some benefits training magic has.
  • Popular spells for pking such as barrage, entangle, teleblock and vengeance
  • Spells that make skilling or PvM more convenient such as superheat, humidify and alchemy
  • Magic can be quite effective for long boss trips, a high level magic set and blood barrage can be used for really long trips
  • Enchanting your own jewelry and bolts
  • Teleports to locations such as god wars, the abyss or even the deep wilderness

Runes

Most methods of training magic involve runes, you'll get some upon creating your account. These aren't enough to get you to a high magic level though, you'll need way more of them. There are three ways of getting them: Buying them from players, buying them from the shop and runecrafting them. If you are gonna buy runes, I recommend you buy them from the shop, they are much cheaper there. I've provided maps of where all the rune shops are below. If you'd like mass amounts of runes, runecrafting or buying from players become more favorable options. If you don't like using runes, there are methods for training magic without runes as well.

Staves

A key to lowering the cost of training magic is using the right staves. Some staves provide infinite runes of one or multiple types, some staves have a chance to save your runes when casting a spell and some staves don't use runes at all. Using one is important, knowing which one to use is even more important. A lot of staves can be bought at Zaff's shop in varrock. These are all the staves you need to know about for training:
  • Basic staves
Provide infinite runes for their element. Obtained from Zaff's shop. No requirements.
  • Mystic staves
Provide infinite runes for their element. Has decent magic bonuses. Obtained from Zaff's shop. Requires 30 magic to use.
  • Mystic mud staff
Provides infinite water and earth runes. Has decent magic bonuses. Obtained as a drop from black demons. Requires 30 magic to use.
  • Mystic lava staff
Provides infinite earth and fire runes. Has decent magic bonuses. Obtained as a drop from basilisks. Requires 30 magic to use.
  • Slayer's staff
Is required to cast the slayer dart spell. Obtained as a drop from infernal mages. Can autocast crumble undead, slayer dart and wave spells. Requires 50 magic and 55 slayer to use.
  • Ancient staff
Has good magic bonuses. Obtained from Zaff's shop. Requires 50 magic to use.
  • Dragon staff
Bonuses scale with magic level, up to 70. Obtained from the donator store. No requirements.
  • Ahrim's staff
Has great magic bonuses. Has a special effect with the full ahrim's set that increases the effect of a spell. Obtained as a drop from the barrows brothers minigame. Degrades and is repairable at Bob. Requires 70 magic to use.
  • Elemental staff
Provides infinite air, water, earth and fire runes. Has great magic bonuses. Obtained as a drop from chronozon. Requires 70 magic to use.
  • Master wand
Has great magic bonuses. Obtained as a drop from KBD. Requires 72 magic to use.
  • Staff of light
The best magic bonuses for a staff without a built in spell. Obtained as a drop from saradomin gwd. Requires 75 magic to use. Has a special attack that will reduce the amount of damage you take.
  • Rod of invandis
Has great magic bonuses. Obtained as a drop from smoke demon champion. Can not autocast any spells but has a built in spell that costs no runes. Degrades and is repairable at Bob. Requires 80 magic to use.

Equipment

It's important you wear the best magic equipment possible for your level. Your spells will become more accurate and a bit more damaging. This in turn will give you more exp per hit, cost less runes per exp and it will be generally faster. It doesn't really matter what you use, as long as you use the best gear that is available to you. If you don't have any magic gear, you can get some mystic from a shop in falador, it requires 40 magic and 20 defense to wear.

The beginning (1 magic)

You'll start off with the runes you get from your starter kit. 1000 mind runes, 700 air runes, 350 water runes, 350 earth runes and 350 fire runes. The first thing you do is cast the strike spells. Just cast the best one available until you run out of runes. Purchasing an air and fire staff will get you the most out of the starter runes. If you can afford it things like magic amulet (t) or a god cape will help a lot as well. It is recommended you do this during double exp to avoid the lower levels as much as you can, you can get up to about 45 magic with just your beginner runes.

Recommended monsters:
Goblins

Crumble undead (39 magic)

One of the very old ways of training magic, crumble undead still is a cheap and efficient way of gaining exp. The extra damage crumble does to undead creatures is huge, especially if you pair it with a salve amulet should you have one. If you are 50 magic and 55 slayer you can use the slayer's staff to autocast this spell as well, making it a lot easier to train with.

Recommended monsters:
Zombies, skeletons, ankous

Astral runes (43 magic)

I have a seperate guide on this as it was worthy of a guide on it's own. You can find it here. You can gain about 500k exp per hour with this method without dxp!

Alchemy (21 and 55 magic)

Alchemy spells are non combat spells that give quite a bit of exp. Low alchemy requires 21 magic and gives 312 exp per cast. High alchemy requires 55 magic and gives 736 exp per cast. While they are non-combat spells, they don't interrupt combat. This makes them great for gaining additional exp with a fairly low rune cost. You can alch additionally to any other magic training method, it is favorable with ones that use a fire staff of any kind. It makes magic a lot faster. Do not use alching on it's own as a training method however, without combat spells the exp rates suck.

Slayer dart (50 magic and 55 slayer)

This spell has a higher maxhit than air wave, it's really good for it's low level requirement and should be used until earth wave can be cast. The downside is you have to have 55 slayer. It is a great way to train towards the higher levels cheaply as it has a really low rune cost to it. You can use this spell to train to 99 if you want to, there are stronger spells though.

Recommended monsters:
Moss giants, giant champions

Earth and fire wave (70 magic)

You're probably thinking 'Why on earth is he recommending these spells? They have such a high rune cost.' Well they do, but not if you have an elemental staff. All the wave spells only cost one blood rune per cast if you're wearing an elemental staff, that makes them really cheap. I recommend doing this until 99, it's cheap and pretty fast. The ele staff is quite expensive but the money can be made from the astrals method. Alching along with this method will also cost you no fire runes.

Recommended monsters:
Giant champions, black demons

Multi target spells (68 magic)

The burst and barrage spells from the ancient spellbooks hit multiple targets, it is pretty much the fastest way of training magic. It does cost a lot of runes however, and potions are recommended. You'll need 68 magic for blood burst, only use blood burst because it keeps you alive when being attacked by loads of monsters. At 92 Switch to blood barrage. If you do this at a location where you can hit multiple mosters with your attacks you will get the best exp rates possible. This does cost a lot of money and you will need both food and prayer potions. If you use the abyssal demons spot you will need 85 slayer and active membership.

Recommended monsters: Zamorak gwd, abyssal demons

Rod of Ivandis (80 magic)

The best staff in the game in my opinion, great dps, fairly low cost repair wise. The issue for some people might be the price of the staff itself, but if you have the money for that you should go with this staff. Be sure to kill something that will give you a bit of money so you cover your own repair costs, frost dragons are a good choice if you have the levels to wear a dfs. High level slayer creatures are all good to train on with this staff, you do need their slayer requirement and active membership to kill them though.

Recommended monsters:
Pest control, dark beasts

Pest control (1 magic)

Despite bonus exp getting a nerf, pest control is still good if you want to level magic. It is the only thing you should use magic brawlers on. It's also one of the few ways to level magic without using actual magic. If you really hate using spells, go with pest control. You can get well over 30k exp per 100 tickets. Just make sure it's double exp and use brawlers when spending your tickets.

Dragonfire shield (1 magic, 75 strength and 75 defence)

It's not all that great anymore since dragons have become resistant to the spec but it does deserve a mention. After absorbing dragonfire 5 times your shield will become charged, if you then operate the shield it will release those charges into a magic attack. It gives magic exp for what you hit. On other monsters and players that maxhit is 70, dragons resist it. It can be a great way to go through the early levels, charging the dfs and running to another monster close by and using the spec.

That'll be all for this guide. If you have any other methods you want me to add or have some feedback on the guide feel free to post it.

Guides / Scams you should watch out for
« on: June 26, 2015, 03:41:16 pm »
I've seen a lot of people get scammed lately, so I wanted to raise awareness of certain scams. That's why I'm making this guide to show you scams you can easily avoid. Some of these scams are punishable, some are not. If a scam is punishable you can get a refund to your items by making a ticket to the helpdesk. Please report right after you got scammed.

Warning: This guide is to raise awareness of these scams, do not try to perform these or you will be punished.

Doubling Money

The oldest scam in the book. Someone will say they're doubling money or items, they'll accept your stuff and run off. Please don't fall for this. Report anyone you see doing this, as this is punishable. Just avoid trading these people at all cost.

Lending

Sometimes people will ask for gear or items to lend, they'll often promise to return more. It's very probable that they may not return your items. What's even worse is that people often stake lent items, resulting in recovery being impossible. Lend scamming is against the rules and is punishable, please report it. Never lend anything to strangers.

The Halberd Hasta Scam

This scam involves trading someone that is buying a dragon hasta a noted dragon halberd. The icons look very similar, however the halberd has a very low value compared to the hasta. This scam is punishable, so please report it. You can avoid this scam by checking your 2nd trade screen or right clicking the items.

The Mantas Scam

It's one of the oldest scams, yet people still fall for it sometimes. Someone will be saying something along the lines of "free mantas, show me your bag so I know how many to give" Sure, they'll give you mantas, but as soon as you have them you find that you forgot to take your bag out of your trade. This scam also happens with sea turtles, sharks and monkfish. This scam is punishable, please report it and you'll get your items refunded. You can avoid this scam by checking your trade before you accept.

The Member Ticket Scam

Someone will be selling member tickets, you really wanna get your membership back up fast so you buy one. What's this? You've got a gold ring and he has your money. Once again these item icons are very similar. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

The Climbing Boots Scam

Someone will attempt to sell the grey boots for climbing boots. The gray boots are sold in a store in rimmington while the climbing boots are a drop from a high level slayer monster. Once again, this scam is punishable so please report it if it happens. You can avoid this scam by looking at the second screen of the trade.

The Hasta Spear Scam

This one may be a bit easier to spot, but still happens. Putting in an iron or steel hasta instead of a zamorakian spear. Once again icons look very similar, this one is also punishable so please report it if it happens. Can also be avoided by just checking the 2nd trade screen.

The Prayer Potion Scam

You're buying prayer potions, and someone puts attack potions or (unf) ranarr potions in the trade, you don't notice it and boom, there goes your money. The icons are very similar. This scam is punishable, please report it if you see it. You can avoid this scam by right clicking the item or looking at the 2nd trade screen.

The Enchanted Robe Scam

Again, fairly similar icons. Enchanted robes can be bought in a shop in rimmington however, and they also have way lower stats than battle robe. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

Dragon santa scam

Again, fairly similar icons. 10 dragon santas were given out last christmas, making them a very rare item. They look very similar to normal santa hats though, which are obtainable from the burnt chest and christmas crackers. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

White platelegs scam

Again, fairly similar icons. While they look similar to 3rd age, white platelegs don't have their stats nor their value. It may be sold to you in a set so it stands out less. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

This is a list I will keep updated, if you have any to add please post them.

Guides / [Moneymaking] Humidify
« on: June 16, 2015, 12:25:35 pm »
This is a moneymaking guide that doesn't have that many requirements to it. It's a great way to start rebuilding your bank if you lost it. This might be ever so slightly boring, I suggest you watch a movie or series while doing this. The money from this guide is in the vials, you'll need to sell them. This guide contains clickable links, feel free to use them to get to their wiki pages.

Requirements:
Skills you'll get exp in:

Setup/inventory

Location

Due to it being the place with a general store closest to a bank, barbarian village is perfect for this.

The progress

Now that you're at the general store you can finally start. Buy 25 empty vials with the buy-x option, use the humidify spell (68 magic) and all your vials will be filled with water. Bank them and simply repeat the steps until you feel you have enough vials of water, and then sell them for money if you need to.

Some stats
1 Inventory:
Uses: ~10 seconds, 25 gp, 1 astral & 1 fire rune
Gives: 25 vials of water, 192 magic exp

Per hour:
~9,000 vials made
~360 astral & fire runes used

Magic exp:
~69,120 without dxp
~138,240 with dxp

Notes:
  • Lunars are no longer members only
  • If you're struggling to get astrals use this guide

Guides / [Skill]Prayer guide
« on: May 24, 2015, 11:13:42 am »

Prayer is one of the most practical skills in the game. It's uses go from boosting your damage output to almost fully protecting you from attacks. In both pvp and pvm prayer is used very extensively. Leveling it up can be a bit tedious however. This guide will tell you how. This guide contains clickable links to the wiki, so feel free to click around. Clicking the prayer icon will take you to the wiki page for it.

Table of contents
  • The advantages of prayer
  • Prayer points
  • Prayer effects
  • Exp rates
  • Training methods
  • Tips & tricks

The advantages of prayer

As said in the intro, prayer has various different effects which help you in combat. These go from simple stat boosts, to full protections. Why should you use these? Because they're a massive factor in fighting efficiently. Let's take protect from melee as an example; if you're fighting a monster that deals a lot of melee based damage, you'll reduce your damage taken by a significant amount if you pray. This could mean more kills, less supply used, and longer trips, thus more efficiency.

Prayer points

It isn't all for free though. Your prayer level is equal to the amount of prayer points you have, and these will drain slowly if you are using any prayers. The rate at which it does depends on what prayers you are using. Prayer points can be restored in various ways, the easiest way is by talking to a healer or praying at an altar, this will restore them back to full. There are also prayer and super restore potions which restore prayer points for when you aren't near one.

Prayer effects

I will now be listing all the various effects you can get with prayer. These will be listed by type, you can not turn on multiple prayers of the same type at the same time. There are a few prayers that this rule doesn't apply to, protect item, rapid heal and rapid restore. You can also use 1 overhead prayer while using another prayer. This is a list of all the prayers by type, prayers in the same table can't be turned on at the same time.
  • Melee boosts

  • Range boosts
  • Magic boosts
  • Defence boosts
  • Overhead prayers
  • Other prayers
Exp rates
There is a whole variety of bones, ranging from really low exp (normal bones) to high exp (dragon and frost dragon bones). If you plan on collecting a certain type of bone, keep in mind the higher prayer exp they give, the more likely it is that they're hard to get.

Training methods

Simply burying all the bones you get from killing monsters is a pretty standard method to level up prayer, however it might be better to collect bones and bury them when there's double exp, or use them with brawlers. Buying the bones is an expensive method, but it is reliable. As far as getting your own prayer experience goes, I recommend the following two things.

Collecting bones

You don't see people camping blue dragons for nothing, they drop dragon bones, which are the second best bones in the game. Blue dragons are the easiest dragons outside of the wilderness, but that doesn't mean you can't kill other dragons. Red, black, brutal and mithril dragons are also great alternatives. Frost dragons beat them all though. I'd recommend killing frost dragons at Neitiznot island if you have high combat stats and at least 65 agility, their bones bury for a whopping 5,625 exp with double and brawlers.

If you don't know how to go about killing frosts, you can find a guide for it here.

If you can't go to frost dragons, I recommend you kill any chromatic dragon.

Pest control

You can also get prayer exp from the pest control minigame. For 100 tickets you can get an exp amount dependant on your level, the higher the level the more exp. This is a great method if you have a lot of pest control tickets, you can get 99 prayer pretty easily using this method. Double exp and brawlers also work on the exp rewards from the minigame.

Tips & tricks

If you collect your bones, don't bury them unless it's double exp, it'll save you a lot of time or money on the bones.
Brawler gloves, which can be obtained from the castle wars minigame give a 1.5x exp boost to prayer as well, this stacks with double exp for a total of 3x exp.

And that's the end of the guide. If you have any improvements to it please post. And if this guide was useful to you feel free to give it a thank.

Guides / [Moneymaking] Astral runes
« on: April 30, 2015, 10:47:49 pm »
This is a moneymaking guide that doesn't have that many requirements to it. It's a great way to start rebuilding your bank if you lost it. This might be ever so slightly boring, I suggest you watch a movie or series while doing this. The money from this guide is in the astrals, you'll need to sell them. This guide contains clickable links, feel free to use them to get to their wiki pages.

Requirements
Skills you'll get exp in

Setup/inventory

Location
You will be mining your own ess in the essence mine, and then superheating it. You will need to teleport, ask Aubury, he can be found in Varrock and Port sarim. Just right click on him and use teleport.

Varrock:

Port sarim:

The progress

Now that we're finally inside the ess mine we can start. Mine the essence until your inventory is full, then simply superheat the essence. The spell will ignore your runecrafting and smithing level. You will get 10 astral runes for every 4 essence you superheat. So one nature rune will get you 10 astral runes. This method is great because you'll never need to bank until you run out of nature runes.

This is the end of my guide. I hope this will help you earn some money. If you have any tips to make this guide better, feel free to post. If it helped you, feel free to give the post a thank as well.
