Soul rune is used for shadow spells in the ancient spellbook. Soul runes can be bought at Aubury for 555 coins or can be made with the Runecrafting skill.

Soul rune is also an ingredient used in order to create a Ghast pouch. The creation of a Ghast pouch requires a Summoning level of 87. Players need an empty familiar pouch, 214 Spirit shards, a crimson charm and Soul rune. This action grants 392 Summoning XP.
