Hello everyone,

I'm presenting you a few changes and tweaks with this update. Please take your time and read through the patch notes, some changes may be of great interest to you!

Bank Placeholders
You can now mark an item in your bank as placeholder. Just right-click the item and select the option. Placeholders will always stay in exactly the same spot in your bank, even if you withdraw the entire stack.

Degradable Equipment
I'm reworking this system a little to clarify things. When dieing with degradable equipment, it will be completely destroyed by default. That means that all barrows equipment is dropped as its destroyed version, as well as elemental whips, bows and staves dropping as their original weapon or upgrade crystal. There was a bug in that system that wouldn't delete the original charges of the item. I'm sorry for that and it's now fixed. I've applied changes to items that have no degraded version, such as auras, imbued rings, etc. In general items that are destroyed when completely degraded. These items are now auto kept and lose 25% of their charges upon death. If the there's less than 25% of their charges left, they are completely destroyed. If such items are lost to another player in the wilderness, they are high-alched and the amount of cash is dropped.

Double Experience Scrolls
There has been quite some discussion on-going on this topic. With this update, I'm introducing a new version of scrolls, which is tradable. Old scrolls remain usable forever, but cannot be traded. The new version, purchasable from the EC store, is tradable. I would like to give every player a chance to get their hands on these scrolls. With this change I've also increased the price of a double XP scroll from 100EC to 150EC.

Very High Quality Shadows and Texture Filtering
More graphical improvements, yay! First of all, I've changed the way how shadow settings are chosen. This is only an internal change, so no need to worry about that. The game client can now use more of your GPUs potential (provided it's available) and thus render higher resolution shadows. Just play around with the shadow quality setting to see how the quality improves or decreases.

I've also reworked the way textures are filtered in their alpha channel. Trees and plants will have a smoother look now. Also the transition between textures has been improved, for instance moss on tree stumps. With this improvement of texture filtering, shadows of trees are also much sharper on very high shadow settings.

Other changes:
  • Health bonus is now shown in the equipment screen.
  • Animation downgrading system overhauled. Animations are now smoothly reduced in their quality the further it is away from your camera position. The amount of players and npcs in an area also plays a role of how much animation quality is decreased. Overall performance of the game should now be steadier, especially in populated areas.
  • Healing splats are no longer shown at the old hit splat system. This is too cluttery.
  • Bank size increased from 900 to 1000 items.
  • Wildywyrm graphically updated. It has received particles and moving lava textures.
  • Vesta's spear special attack max hit buffed from 135% to 140%.
  • Dragon longsword and mace special attack accuracy and strength buffed slightly.
  • Dragon scimitar special attack now costs 50% special energy instead of 75%.
  • Dragon halbed special attack buffed from 115% to 125% damage. The second hit on large npcs also inflicts 125% of the damage now.
  • Granite maul special attack changed. Maxhit reduced from 110% to 100% and accuracy buffed from 120% to 160%.
  • Dragon claws accuracy buffed from 120% to 140%.

All the best,
Thomy

I'm sorry, but the game doesn't do cross-checks to verify if you can create all of the items on your own. Having an ironman account is an additional challenge.

Guides / Barrows guide
« on: December 30, 2015, 09:34:51 am »
Hello everyone and welcome to my very first guide! If you got some ideas how to improve this guide or have found a mistake, then make sure to let me know. Let's begin.

Requirements

  • 70+ combat stats
  • 43+ prayer
  • Some Prayer potions/Super restores
  • A source of healing

Getting there

Barrows is a minigame located in Canifis. You can get there by talking to the ghost captain located in the eastern side of Falador park (Clicking on the "travel" option will take you directly to Canifis, skipping the dialouge.

An alternative way of getting to Canifis is using the Senntisten teleport in the ancient spellbook. If you don't know how to change your spellbook to ancients you will need to read the guide on how to switch spellbooks.
Once you are there move north until you find a portal:

Enter the portal and it will take you to the Barrows minigame.

The Barrows brothers

You will need a spade to enter the crypts, there is one on the ground right next to the hut which you are teleported to if you don't have one.

Head into the the closed area behind the hut, that's where you'll get started.
There is are total of 6 barrow's brothers that you will have to kill in order to complete the minigame.
This is where the different brothers are located:

Now get on top of one of the mountains and dig your spade.
Search the Sarcophagus and the according brother will spawn and attack you:

I recommend starting with Dharok and Verac since they deal damage to you even through prayer. Make sure you use Protect from melee while killing Dharok, as he deals increased damage when his health is lower. Stay above 70 hitpoints at all costs, you may die if he gets a lucky hit through prayer.

If you find a Sarcophagus that displays this message upon searching:

Then leave the tomb and kill the remaining brothers, come back to this once you've killed the rest.

When back at this certain tomb search the Sarcophagus again and click on 'Yes', you will be taken to a maze.

Make your way to the middle. Attempting to open the chest will spawn the last Barrow brother. Kill it and go open the chest, search it to get your reward and you will be teleported out of the tomb:

What gear to use?

The best gear you can afford, of course. Going for high damage and high defense gear would be the best option to go for. If money is a problem, though, try to get something that grants prayer bonus such as Verac's, Helm of Neitiznot and Initiate armour to reduce the amount of prayer potions you use. Also a set of Guthan's would be a great choice because of the passive that heals you.

Strongly advised to have:

- Salve amulet increases your accuarcy and damage by 20% versus the undead.
- SGS's special attack restores both hitpoints and prayer points.
- Ring of Vigour is the best ring in the game as it has the same stats as ring of stone but it also gives you a 10% cost reduction to special attacks - perfect with the SGS.

Some example setups:

or

- A cheap weapon that offers great offensive stats, you can always match it with a shield or a defender.
- Costs more than the Abyssal whip but also has a higher strength bonus, accuarcy bonus and a +3 prayer bonus.
- A cheap way to buff your whip, also has the best offensive stats after the Arcane spirit shield.
- If money is not a problem, then get yourself an Arcane spirit shield - the best melee shield in the game, it also gives you +5 prayer bonus.

Rewards

- Set effect: the less HP you have the higher your maxhit is.

- Set effect: the set effect has a 25% chance to occur. You will heal 6 HP plus half of the hit you deal during the spcial attack.

- Set effect: the set effect has a 25% chance to occur. You will hit your opponent for 115% damage and bind them for 5 seconds.

- Set effect: the set effect has a 25% chance to occur. You will hit your opponent for 120% damage.

- Set effect: the set effect has a 10% chance to nullify your opponent's hit, resulting in a guaranteed 0.

- Set effect: the set effect has a 10% chance to ignore your opponent's defence bonus completely, resulting in a guaranteed hit. It will always ignore protection prayers.

Different amounts of

That's it, simple as that. Hope this helps you with your Barrows' collections.

There will be a map for everything at the end of the guide. Hope this helps.

First off you will need to talk to santa. He can be found at the grand exchange. He will tell you that he is a little short on delivery and needs you to help. He then hands you delivery notes which will tell you which person you should deliver your present to. Presents can be picked up at the christmas tree and are to be used on the npc listed in the delivery notes.

Delivery

Once you've recieved your delivery notes you can get to delivering, there are various npcs you can deliver your presents to. These are the following:

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Worldmap viewer entirely reworked. Instead of showing a large image, the image is now rendered directly from the Emps-World game files. Dungeons are also displayed this time! We'll also be adding our custom areas with appropriate names to the worldmap continuously.
  • New method of rendering model buffers added. Type ::multibuffer to try it out, it's a 20-25% fps boost on my desktop computer and laptop. I'd like to test it on other setups too though. Once you typed ::multibuffer, you cannot properly disabled anymore until you restart your client. Please let me know if ::multibuffer improves your fps rate and makes the game run smoother! :)
  • Gargoyles now drop bones and their size changed from 3x3 tiles to 2x2 tiles.
  • Kree'Arra now has a guaranteed drop of 150 feathers.
  • Chickens now always drop 30 feathers.
  • Perfect ring (turns you into santa) is now also unequipping your shield.

All the best,
Thomy

Updates of 11/11/2015:
  • Grim Reaper position fixed.
  • Hunter density increased, more creatures are now available in all hunter areas.
  • EP ticket item was added to the game. It will make it easier for us to give you Event Points in form of an item now.
  • Baxtorian and GWD waterfall heights fixed.
  • Some new GE systems are also going live with this patch. We'll be collecting prices of all items to get ready for the initial release. I'm not promising the GE by next week, but it is possible! :)

Guides / Scams you should watch out for
« on: June 26, 2015, 03:41:16 pm »
I've seen a lot of people get scammed lately, so I wanted to raise awareness of certain scams. That's why I'm making this guide to show you scams you can easily avoid. Some of these scams are punishable, some are not. If a scam is punishable you can get a refund to your items by making a ticket to the helpdesk. Please report right after you got scammed.

Warning: This guide is to raise awareness of these scams, do not try to perform these or you will be punished.

Doubling Money

The oldest scam in the book. Someone will say they're doubling money or items, they'll accept your stuff and run off. Please don't fall for this. Report anyone you see doing this, as this is punishable. Just avoid trading these people at all cost.

Lending

Sometimes people will ask for gear or items to lend, they'll often promise to return more. It's very probable that they may not return your items. What's even worse is that people often stake lent items, resulting in recovery being impossible. Lend scamming is against the rules and is punishable, please report it. Never lend anything to strangers.

The Halberd Hasta Scam

This scam involves trading someone that is buying a dragon hasta a noted dragon halberd. The icons look very similar, however the halberd has a very low value compared to the hasta. This scam is punishable, so please report it. You can avoid this scam by checking your 2nd trade screen or right clicking the items.

The Mantas Scam

It's one of the oldest scams, yet people still fall for it sometimes. Someone will be saying something along the lines of "free mantas, show me your bag so I know how many to give" Sure, they'll give you mantas, but as soon as you have them you find that you forgot to take your bag out of your trade. This scam also happens with sea turtles, sharks and monkfish. This scam is punishable, please report it and you'll get your items refunded. You can avoid this scam by checking your trade before you accept.

The Member Ticket Scam

Someone will be selling member tickets, you really wanna get your membership back up fast so you buy one. What's this? You've got a gold ring and he has your money. Once again these item icons are very similar. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

The Climbing Boots Scam

Someone will attempt to sell the grey boots for climbing boots. The gray boots are sold in a store in rimmington while the climbing boots are a drop from a high level slayer monster. Once again, this scam is punishable so please report it if it happens. You can avoid this scam by looking at the second screen of the trade.

The Hasta Spear Scam

This one may be a bit easier to spot, but still happens. Putting in an iron or steel hasta instead of a zamorakian spear. Once again icons look very similar, this one is also punishable so please report it if it happens. Can also be avoided by just checking the 2nd trade screen.

The Prayer Potion Scam

You're buying prayer potions, and someone puts attack potions or (unf) ranarr potions in the trade, you don't notice it and boom, there goes your money. The icons are very similar. This scam is punishable, please report it if you see it. You can avoid this scam by right clicking the item or looking at the 2nd trade screen.

The Enchanted Robe Scam

Again, fairly similar icons. Enchanted robes can be bought in a shop in rimmington however, and they also have way lower stats than battle robe. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

Dragon santa scam

Again, fairly similar icons. 10 dragon santas were given out last christmas, making them a very rare item. They look very similar to normal santa hats though, which are obtainable from the burnt chest and christmas crackers. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

White platelegs scam

Again, fairly similar icons. While they look similar to 3rd age, white platelegs don't have their stats nor their value. It may be sold to you in a set so it stands out less. This scam is also punishable, so please report it to get a refund. To avoid this scam always check your 2nd trade screen.

This is a list I will keep updated, if you have any to add please post them.

Guides / [Moneymaking] Humidify
« on: June 16, 2015, 12:25:35 pm »
This is a moneymaking guide that doesn't have that many requirements to it. It's a great way to start rebuilding your bank if you lost it. This might be ever so slightly boring, I suggest you watch a movie or series while doing this. The money from this guide is in the vials, you'll need to sell them. This guide contains clickable links, feel free to use them to get to their wiki pages.

Requirements:
Skills you'll get exp in:

Setup/inventory

Location

Due to it being the place with a general store closest to a bank, barbarian village is perfect for this.

The progress

Now that you're at the general store you can finally start. Buy 25 empty vials with the buy-x option, use the humidify spell (68 magic) and all your vials will be filled with water. Bank them and simply repeat the steps until you feel you have enough vials of water, and then sell them for money if you need to.

Some stats
1 Inventory:
Uses: ~10 seconds, 25 gp, 1 astral & 1 fire rune
Gives: 25 vials of water, 192 magic exp

Per hour:
~9,000 vials made
~360 astral & fire runes used

Magic exp:
~69,120 without dxp
~138,240 with dxp

Notes:
  • Lunars are no longer members only
  • If you're struggling to get astrals use this guide

Guides / Official Emps-World - Skill guide: Crafting
« on: April 12, 2015, 07:37:01 pm »

Crafting

Table of contents

I. General information
II. Gem crafting
III. Jewellery and Bolt tips
IV. Leather and Dragonhide
V. Other crafting
VI. Where to craft?
VII. Crafting shop
VIII. Skillcape emote

I. General information

With crafting you can create useful armour and jewelry, which can be enchanted.
Other items can also be crafted which can be used in Emps-World.
Crafting is mostly available for members, but there are some things which are able to craft for non-members.

II. Gem crafting

Gem crafting is the fastest way to train you crafting, that's because you can cut gems two times and they are very easy to get.
you can obtain gems from,
- Certain monsters
- Shooting star
- Stealing from a gem stall (Thieving)
- gem rocks
- buying from other players

A gem requires a X crafting level, a chisel and an active membership to cut the gems.
All gems can be cut two times (execpt opal), giving the same crafting XP again and 15 bolt tips.

III. Jewellery and Bolt tips

Jewellery crafting is mostly used for making Amulets or Rings such as Amulet of Fury and Ring of Stone.
Bolt tips are mostly crafted because you can add them to certain bolts.

To craft jewellery you will need gold bars, a cut gem (only one time) and the correct mould (which can be bought from the crafting shop). If you want to wear or enchant an amulet what you created you'll need to attach a Ball of wool.

The bolt tips can be used to put on certain bolts, you can enchant those for some effects, see more about this at the Fletching guide

IV. Leather and Dragonhide

Leather and dragonhide crafting is mostly used for getting ranged armour.
you'll need Cowhide, Snakeskin, Dagannoth hide or Dragonhide to craft stuff.
Once you got one of those you need to tan it at Ellis who is located in Al-karid.
When you tanned the hides you need a Needle and some Thread to make it, needle and thread can be bought from the crafting shop.
Use the needle on the tanned hide to open the craft menu, the only thing left now is to choose what you want to create.

V. Other crafting

This is for the Non-members, this are some various items that can be crafted.
These are ropes and bowstrings.
Ropes can be made of Yak hair and bowstring can be made of flax.
You can obtain Yak hair from the yaks at Neitiznot Island. The flax can be obtained from the flax fields in camelot.

VI. where to craft?

I suggest to craft at al kharid, if you want to tan your hides you are very close to a bank.
Also if you craft jewellery Al-kharid is the best place, because there is a furnance very close to the bank.
In al-kharid you have everything you need, Ellis, furnance, bank and the crafting store.

VII. Crafting shop

In this shop you can buy almost all the crafting supplies you'll need.
To open the shop trade dommik in Al-kharid.

VIII. Skillcape emote

Thankyou for reading my guide, I hope this will give you some extra information!
Got some more information feel free to leave a comment.
