The Abyss is an area where players can train their runecrafting or obtain runecrafting pouches. It consists of outer and inner circles. Inner rings contain Runecrafting rifts while aggressive Abyss monsters who drop runecrafting pouches can be found in the outer rings.

A map of the inner ring of the Abyss, with the locations of the rifts inside.

Getting into the Abyss

There are two diffrent ways to get in the Abyss.
You can either talk to the Mage of Zamorak north of Edgeville in the wilderness who will ask you if he may teleport you to the Abyss or you can use the Abyss teleport which requires a Magic level of 90 and the Ancient spellbook. This teleport costs 2 Law runes and 2 Blood runes.

The Mage of Zamorak teleports players into the outer ring of the Abyss and the Abyss teleport teleports them into the inner ring.

Inside the Abyss

Outer rings

The outer ring contains various aggressive monsters who drop all of the runecrafting pouches:

Getting into the inner requires passing different obstacles that require level 50 in its corresponding skill. The obstacles rotate randomly and there's also one obstacle that has no skill requirement. There are 6 types of obstacles:

  • A boil (requires level 50 firemaking to pass)
  • A gap (requires level 50 agility to pass)
  • A rock (requires level 50 mining to pass)
  • Tendrils (require level 50 woodcutting to pass)
  • Eyes (require level 50 agility to pass)
  • A passage (has no skill requirement to pass)

Inner ring

The inner ring has no monsters. There are rifts leading to every runecrafting altar.
