Promethium platebody is a drop from Lucien Van Rot and his minions in the Rot cave. It requires level 85 Defence and level 85 Strength to wield. As with other Promethium items, it reduces the effects of rot by 10% (for a total of 50% when fully geared with promethium equipment items). The Promethium platebody can be made by using the smithing skill, requiring 8 Promethium bar and grants you 6,080 smithing XP. However, 92 smithing is required. The Promethium platebody is degradable and has up to 25 hours of combat time after which, will be transformed into a broken state with no combat time left that cannot be worn until it is repaired. Promethium platebody cannot be repaired by Bob or any repair benchs. It can only be repaired by using a Promethium bar on the equipment. A single bar will repair the Promethium platebody in its integritty no matter how much combat time is left.
