To boost Runecrafting experience, players can wear [[Chaos gauntlets]] to gain an extra 5% experience. Also by having an active [[membership]], you will gain an additional 10% experience in everything that you train in [[Emps-World]]. There is currently no means to boost your Runecrafting level temporarily.

Runes can be crafted at runecrafting altars, there are two ways to access them. One way is to go to a [[Prismatic altar]] with a talisman in your inventory, entering that altar will teleport you to the runecrafting altar of the first talisman in your inventory.

The other way is through the [[Abyss]], which can be accessed by talking to [[Mage of Zamorak]] in the wilderness or by teleporting to it using the abyss teleport spell from the [[Magic#Ancient_spellbook|ancient spellbook]]. Once inside the abyss you'll have to get to the inner ring, depending on the passage you go through it can require level 50 in a few different skills. Around the inner ring are a number of rifts that will take you to their respective runecrafting altar. Finally when at a runecrafting altar, just click the altar and any rune essence in your inventory will be turned into runes and you will gain exp.

The only exception are [[Astral rune]]s. These runes can only be created by smelting 4 [[Rune essence]] in a furnace or with the [[Superheat]] spell whilst wearing an [[Astral tiara]]. Which can be bought from [[Aubury]]'s Rune store for 39,648 [[coins]]. You need 60 [[Smithing]] and 60 [[Runecrafting]] to create astral runes, however, superheating will ignore these requirements.

Players can access this mine by climbing down the ladder south of Barbarian village or by talking to Aubury in Varrock, Port Sarim or Ardougne.

Runes can be crafted at runecrafting altars, which are accessible in three ways:

- Enter a Prismatic altar while having one of the Talismans in the inventory. By default, players are teleported to the runecrafting altar of the first talisman in their inventory. However, players can also use a talisman on a Prismatic altar to bypass the default selection.

Runes

In the table below all requirements and runecrafting experience for crafting runes are displayed. Also, the amount of runes that you get for 1 Rune essence on level 99 Runecrafting is displayed. The multiplication does not apply to the amount of experience you get from crafting one Rune essence into a certain type of rune, that always stays the same.
