Prices need some time to become accurate. The GE has a built-in price evaluator for items. It just takes some time until the evaluateo is fed with item data!

GE makes it easier. You literally have to do NOTHING to merch using GE.

It destroys bartering, not merchanting. That's the thing most people get mixed up.
