Hi,

We're having quite a big change today, please take your time and read through this topic. So that you'll make the best out of it! First of all, I'm introducing voting on toplists. You can get all the information you need, here: http://emps-world.net/vote.

Moreover, we have new in-game commands:
  • ::email - Brings you to the change/set e-mail page
  • ::vote - Brings you to the voting page

There's now a voting shop in-game, at the Grand Exchange. Talk to Bolkoy to get all available voting rewards. Currently, we're only having 'double xp scrolls' as a voting reward. Every double xp scroll gives you 20 minutes of double experiences on everything! Please bear in mind, that these 20 minutes are also running when you don't play, it's 'real' time, rather than 'in-game' time. We're still working on more rewards for voting, though we already wanted to release double xp scrolls, because they are very useful! As already mentioned in our last news topic, double xp and free member weekends are going to be removed now. You're able to gain up to 1.5h of double xp every day! Though don't be sad, we're still keeping the current upcoming double xp weekend. :)

In other news:
  • You can now always attack players, who are fighting npcs in the wilderness.
  • A bug was fixed, where autocasting was interrupted when you leveled up magic.
  • Fury sharks can now be noted.
  • We're counting total time spent in-game now. Will be displayed on the homepage in a few weeks!

Hi,

As most of you probably have already seen, our main homepage has received a new layout. If you haven't already seen it, check it out here: http://emps-world.net. Please let me know if you like it or don't like it, also tell me why! Besides, special thanks to Mary for drawing the images of the menu.

We're also removing double xp and free member weekends. Please don't immediately rampage on that, let me explain why and tell you what ELSE we're giving you! Double XP weekends sound really cool, everything trains twice as fast. In theory that sounds really good, but the plain reality is, that we only have lots of players online during these weekends. So once in 2 weeks, we have peeks with over 400 players online at once. I'd like to change these peeks a little and have 350-400 players online daily. I'm therefore removing double XP and free member during weekends and add 1 hour of double xp every day. Our plan is to make some kind of 'double xp aura' available for voting points. I'm working on a voting system for RuneLocus, TopG, RSPS-List, etc. Our plan is to use voting points for cosmetical items, double xp, member days and even brawling gloves. Please bear in mind, that this change goes live WHENEVER the voting system is finished. It could mean that we have no double xp next weekend, but I cannot guarantee that yet!
TL;DR: No double xp/free member weekends, 1h double xp a day!

In other news, we have made some changes to the game:
  • You are no longer 100% safe when fighting monsters in the wilderness. Any player can interrupt combat with npcs in single combat zones now! We've made this change, because there is 0 risk in killing dragons or spectrals in the wilderness, when you've got a teleport with you. It's impossible for a PKer to attack you. (Goes live tomorrow, already warning the first time here!)
  • Tutorial dialogues updated. A better explanation of Emps-World, its commands and I removed some old mistakes.
  • Tutorial rewards updated. New players now get an iron, steel, black and mithril scimitar. Moreover, they also get a shortbow, oak shortbow and willow shortbow now. On top of that, new players get 250 iron arrows instead of 150 bronze arrows plus 150 steel arrows. This should make the overall start easier.
  • Frost dragon bones now give 1,875xp. Moreover, frost dragons have been made weaker overall too.
  • Monks of zamorak now drop zamorak wines.
  • Banshees now drop noted potato cactus.
  • Jellies don't drop granite items that often anymore. We've compensated it, by adding more coins to them. Plus, they are no longer aggressive.
  • Basilisks are no longer aggressive.
  • Wyverns drop saradomin armour less often. We've compensated it too, by adding more coins to them
  • Ice strykewyrms deal no initial damage anymore when popping out of the ground.
  • Splashes and teleblocks now trigger auto-retaliate. Monsters will also attack you back, when you splash a magic spell on them.
  • A bug with donations was fixed, which let you gain huge amounts of donator tickets. If that happened to you, you have 1 day time to return them. We'll ban all accounts that have massive amounts of donator tickets tomorrow. Serious offenses (50+ tickets) were immediately banned.

Special thanks to Martin aka Es Dexter for updating this updates's drop tables.
Last but not least, our first GE test is going live. We'll be testing transactions in world 3 (no public beta yet, sorry!). I hope that it's working out really well and that we can have it ready in the coming weeks. :)

Hey guys,

I've made a list of fixes:
  • Temporary bans are fixed.
  • Binding people should no longer let your character walk up to them.
  • Onions in draynor can now be picked up.
  • Hasta prices added.
  • Shops, which don't buy any items won't say that they buy items for x coins anymore.
  • There was a bug in the client's update system. This bug stopped you from receiving client updates since 28th of February. It's now fixed and you'll receive all updates again.

I've also made further progress on the GE. Will keep you guys updated on it when it gets into the beta phase! :)

Hey guys,

You'll no longer be able to gain double the amount of xp when spam clicking hunter traps. I've also speed up our loginserver, which means that your friends lists should load faster. Logins will also be quicker, especially when a lot of people wish to login at the same time. Moreover, I've also continued my work with the GE. I was already able to do my first, basic transaction on it! :)

Besides that, we're now running a 3rd world. This world invisible unless we enable it. I'm sure you'll get into this world soon enough, when we test our next update. There isn't a lot to see with this update, but a lot of things internally were improved. Also GE has made a huge step forward.

Hey guys,

I'm currently re-designing the menu on our homepage. I've put a live test version online: https://emps-world.net/test_new_menu.php
Colors aren't final, they are experimental. It's more about the usability of the menu! In the final stage, we plan to add images to every menu item. (Some parts of the menu may not work, but I think you get the idea of how it's going to be like!)

Please let me know what you think of it. :)

Hey guys,

I'm sorry for today's lag. The reason for it is the new pathfinding system for following and PvP combat. My estimations for the system with 300+ players were wrong, it was to intense for the server to handle! I've changed some things, which will make this calculation happen less often. That should fix the lag issue. If it still persists, we have a command to temporarily disable pathfinding and use the old next-step system (the one where you can get stuck in combat behind trees!).

I've also lowered the attack range for magic from 10 to 8. (The system works better with distances < 10)

In further news the bugs with watering cans are now also fixed.

EDIT: Some left over lag issues were fixed. (Actual errors in the code, that were slowing down the code)
Moreover, I've also made magic animations 'walkable'. That means that your character is able to walk during the cast animation --> better attack flow during magic combat.
Also the drops are now reloaded, this means new chaos ele drops (dragon boots, infinity robes) are included

Hey guys,

I'm glad to announce that the hunter rework is coming with this update. We've also reset all levels above 70 to 70 because of massive xp gain bugs. In general hunting was visually improved. New experience rates have been added and some level requirements were changed. Please take a look at the hunter wiki entry: http://emps-world.net/wiki/Hunter.
Generally the levels <40 are a bit slower, but the curve of level requirement and experience is much smoother on higher levels >40, so getting 99 is not that frustrating!

Visual changes include birds and rabbits shown in their traps, amongst several other new hunter animations:


Other hunter changes:
  • You can no longer click on traps of other players. You see the traps but can't interact with them. There's still the limit of 1 trap per ground tile though.
  • Traps have a maximum life time of 10 minutes now. After a trap was inactive for 5 minutes it destroys itself. When the trap is destroyed it can be dismantled by any player. After 6 minutes of inactivity traps leave Emps-World for good.
  • Catching can now fail depending on your Hunter level. The higher your Hunter level is, the less chance you have on failing the catch. After a certain Hunter level (~20 levels difference) you won't fail anymore.
  • Butterfly catching is much smoother now, your character will automatically try to catch the butterfly again and follow it if you fail.
  • You will now get 1 chinchompa for every caught chinchompa.
  • Ferret, rabbit, and penguin pets are no longer tradable and have a fairly low chance on looting one of these pets while hunting the respective creatures.
  • You can find Hunter brawling gloves in the Castle wars shop now.



Another important change is to mention, that we've lowered the Defence bonus of every monster in the game (5-10% less). That means you should find yourself hitting a bit more often now. We've issued this change because of complaints that boss monsters were too strong. Please give us feedback on the new Defence levels of (mainly) bosses! Global monster respawn timers have been changed. Every monster respawns after being dead for 20 seconds. Also boss monsters! All hunter monsters are respawning every 8 seconds.



Most important bugfixes:
  • Dark wizards, Black knights and Zombies have proper drops now.
  • Dragon 2H is now properly notable again.
  • NPC range/magic attacks will be ignored if the player is out of range (e.g. when running away).
  • Ava's and Max cape will no longer 'dupe' arrows by throwing them on the ground and keeping them in your quiver at the same time.
  • Items that are obtained during an event will be dropped at the place you reappear if you cannot accept them due to a full inventory (Jad, Barrows, Mime event, etc).
  • Dragon staff is now one-handed.
  • Stacked items that are flagged as kept on death will now properly be dropped on the floor when you die (you keep 1 of it).
  • You can now also mine several rock outcrops in wilderness and the crafting guild.
  • Star sprites now properly despawn in 5 minutes after a shooting star has been mined.
  • You can no longer make objects disappear by creating a fire on them.



PS: I'd also like to share some GE progress with you. Please bear in mind that this isn't finished yet and that I had to stop development on it because of Hunter!

Hey guys,

The updates of today don't include the GE but I've started working on it already! :)

  • Plenty of bugfixes from the bug report section. I'm not listing all of them here. Thanks again for your effort to report all issues!
  • A new custom model: Dragon hasta. It's dropped by Bronze, Iron, Steel dragons and the King black dragon, and requires 70 attack to wield. It has the same strength as a whip. Moreover, you now find all requirements for every hasta in the attack level interface. A hasta has the attack speed of a dragon scimitar/whip and is also one-handed.
  • Ice Strykewyrms added. They require level 87 slayer to kill and are assigned by Vannaka and Duradel. They drop new tier 80 boots: Steadfast, Ragefire and Glaiven. They can be found in a cave near the frozen waste plateau. Walk west of the teleport location. Also, once inside the ice strykewyrm cave you're no longer in wilderness!
  • Online Status, Private Messaging and Login procedure updated. It's only technical but I'm mentioning it here anyway. The private status 'friends' only should now also be working flawlessly. It's directed towards people being stuck as 'already logged in' for minutes.
  • Spirit shields are now listed in the level interfaces.
  • Wilderness north-west of black knight castle removed.
  • Eastern wildy is now throughout a multi combat zone.
  • The wildy obelisks are activated after a client restart!

Hey guys,

We've got some changes ready for today:
  • Statius warhammer and bandos godsword special attacks nerfed. They were far too powerful for pvming. Statius warhammer now decreases 10% of the enemy's defence level. Bandos godsword will now decrease your enemy's defence level by half. I'm sure some of you will not enjoy this update but it's a necessary change. Nobody is fighting a boss without a statius or bgs special attack anymore. Furthermore, an npc's level can be reduced to a maximum of 85% of its original level. That means level 100 defence won't go lower than 85. Players have their stat lowering limit at 50% of their maximum level.
  • Some people were complaining that corporeal beast drops were bugged. I've taken a look at the drops and simulated a million kills. The result is that I've received every drop. So there is no bug that you can't get a special spirit shield, it's just a huge coincidence!
  • Besides these 2 changes I've fixed a lot of bugs that have been reported in the bug reports section. Special thanks to all people posting there, it's great help!
  • Some people were having problems with the client loading new regions and that objects on the ground disappeared. That's due to a recent change in the client's update procedure. I was able to increase initial loading speed in the client for new players which I was testing yesterday with the live client. So some client patches yesterday were causing bugs that have all been fixed today. After a successful client patch you shouldn't have any problem with loading new regions anymore. If something still goes wrong, make a bug report! :)
  • A bug was fixed where degradable items would never completely degrade and destroy.

Hey guys,

!! RESTART YOUR CLIENT !!

The last update was quite some time ago. That means that I've got a huge list of changes and updates ready:
  • Spiritual Warrior, Mager and Ranger slayer task updated. They count from all 4 god alliances now instead of only from Zamorak.
  • Infernal mage slayer task bug fixed. You can now finish these tasks.
  • Jad minigame overhauled. I've made monsters in the minigame aggressive and they shouldn't despawn anymore.
  • A bug in the client was fixed where objects wouldn't load and you find yourself with only the ground being displayed. If it still happens to you, please make a bug report! (I couldn't reproduce it anymore)
  • A growing maple tree will no longer become a willow tree in one of the farming stages.
  • A small roof part in varrock was recolored.
  • You will now correctly receive gold from alching noted godsword shards.
  • The ignore list is now being saved.
  • A "You've lost your target." message will no longer appear and stop you from following/attacking your enemy when standing too far away.
  • Freezing immunity timer for Bind, Snare and Entangle was removed. They can freeze your enemy right after their timer has run out. The same mechanic counts for the zamorak godsword. Ice barrage still has the immunity timer of 3 seconds to avoid being immobilized permanently without a chance on escape.
  • E-Mails on the homepage are no longer fully displayed. Their most significant parts are shown.
  • Christmas tree in falador including snow drifts have been removed. Don't be sad, snow drifts can now be found in the north-western part of the wilderness!
  • Corporeal beast added. You can find it in a cave in the Wilderness. The easiest way to get there is switching to ancient magicks, use the Dareeyak teleport and walk east. It drops sigils and the spirit shield, spirit shields can be crafted with high skill levels and add some fancy bonus in combination with their respective combat style (melee, ranged, mage, tank)! Also, for upgrading spirit shields you need a holy elixir, which can be bought in edgeville's monastery. I suggest just trying the shields out. Don't forget that they all have an operate option like the dragonfire shield. The corporeal beast cave itself is not a wilderness zone, only getting there is dangerous.

  • Get the holy elixir that is required for the spirit shields from Brother Jared, in Edgeville monastery.
  • Buy-x and sell-x was added to shops. (Client restart required!)
  • You can now disassemble mime beret combinations to your mime mask and beret again.
  • 3 Frost dragons have been added to the northern part of Neitiznot, you need to cross a bridge (requires agility + membership) to reach them.
  • Commander Zilyana, K'ril Tsutsaroth and Kree'Arra now drop the Saradomin owl, Zamorak hawk and the Guthix raptor very rarely. These pets are tradable!
  • Additional hitpoint effects reworked (sara brews). They now function the same way as potions and boost your maximum hitpoints level. That means if you take one drink of a saradomin brew, you can always eat up your hitpoints to that new maximum level. It decays the same way as pots do and is saved upon logouts.

Hey guys,

!! MAKE SURE TO RESTART YOU CLIENT !!

I've got a nice update ready for today: Custom wings. They are unique and only exist in Emps-World!

If you want to get a fresh pair of wings, head over to the donator shop. Wings are 1 donator ticket each and count as amulets. They have the same stats as an amulet of glory. Moreover wings can also be used in the godwars dungeon for protection from the respective alliance.

In other news I've fixed some bugs. Only noticable things are listed below.
  • Players in wildy can now always be attacked. There's no longer an out of combat timer for people loading the map.
  • An automated cache downloader has been added to the client. Especially new players will profit from that. It basically means that the whole cache is now slowly downloaded in background. That reduces loading times in any futur areas for you. Don't worry, this isn't going to make you lag, it takes 3-4 hours to finish the download. That's no stress for the bandwidth and gameplay!

Hey guys,

I've got a lot of bug fixes ready for today. I'm only mentioning the largest changes:
  • Barbarian agility course overhaul. Timing is better now and bugs have been fixed where you could get stuck.
  • Item pickup issue fixed. You're even able to pickup items that are 1 step away from you. That should fix all pickup issues in general.
  • Guardian Angel issue fixed. Everybody who's died yesterday has received a GA. That debugging option was disabled.
  • Ardougne castle stairs added. You can now climb to the top.
  • Ardougne windmill configured. You can now go up and down there.
  • You can no longer drop items on farming patches, so loot wont float into the air anymore.
  • EDIT: I've also added a 'Thank You' modification to the forum. It allows you to say thank you to forum posts.

Hey guys,

I've got plenty of updates and fixes ready. They're listed below:
  • Warrior guild animated armours reworked. You should no longer lose your armours when fighting them.
  • Teleport overhaul. I've updated teleport timers and animations. All in all it's going to look smoother. Moreover, teletab and lunar teleports have received new animations.
  • Death overhaul. I've updated the whole system. It has proper timers now and I've fixed where players could get stuck into a death loop ending up in not being able to finish their die procedure. They were forced to relog and didn't lose their items. That's especially annoying in pvp zones.
  • Goblin village north of Falador was populated
  • Evergreens can now be cut
  • Chaos gauntlets now give +5% Runecrafting xp.
  • Family gauntlets now give +5% Crafting xp. (Can be bought from Hickton in Rimmington)
  • Lumbridge castle is now accessible. You can climb to the very top. A banker was also placed there.
  • A client update is now prohibiting you from clicking objects that aren't on your current height. E.g. picking up barricades in Castle Wars while being on top floor.
  • Smelting iron now requires level 15 Smithing. Smelting steel now requires level 20 Smithing.
  • You've probably already noticed these forum changes: Forum overall is wider now. Forum avatars now have a size of 100x100 pixels.
  • New shoutbox smileys. Also usable in forum messages: :cake::doge::frankerz::batman:
  • Items that would disappear after 60 seconds now popup a destroy dialogue.
  • EDIT: Rimmington farming patch added. You can now plant trees there.

Hey guys,

It's the last update in 2014, hooray! :)
  • New drops for godwars dungeon (killcount mobs are unchanged): all rare drops were halved (hilts, armour, robes, bows, ss), trivia drops updated, graardor no longer drops some random godsword shards (only boss minions do). Boss minions drop items respective to their god (zamorak arrows, sara arrows, crushed nests etc), coin drops added to both bosses and minions (values between 35k-92k for bosses, 15k-50k for minions). Bosses and minions drop super potions and food (both noted and unnoted). See exact changes at their respective wiki pages!
  • Ice diamond removed from ice warriors.
  • Thieving fail chances lowered
  • Veteran starter kit enhanced.
  • E-mails from Emps-World now contain a nice heading logo.
  • Emps-World loader updated. You can optionally download the new one here: http://emps-world.net/Emps-World.jar (Only visually different!)
  • An attempt to fix a bug that makes member tickets disappear. If you have more information on this issue, please let me know it! If people lose their member tickets by activating them, they shall open a helpdesk ticket.
