Hey guys,

Today I've changed the following:
  • Untradeable items are no longer lost when dieing in a pvp fight. Due to the recent changes for defenders, fighter torso and void knight armours, this update is no longer needed. That also means, that you will no longer lose your salve amulets! You can now run back and pick them up within 4 minutes inside the wilderness.
  • Hunting traps that fail to catch creatures now give you the trap item back.
  • You can no longer shoot 2 arrows when only having 1 equipped. (darkbow and comp ogre)
  • More bugged GE spots fixed.
  • Grand Exchange clerks have been placed and are configured. The GE is NOT YET fully released, we're still testing it. This update is only finalizing the procedure.
  • Grand Exchange search code updated. You should no longer find doubles of any items.
  • Duel-Arena teleport now places you directly at the Duel-Arena and no longer 30 steps west of it.

Hey guys,

First of all big thanks for posting so many bugs reports in our bug reports section, I was able to fix a lot of them!

Besides the bug fixes for today, I've updated the classic client. I've increased its performance and look by a lot. Flickering is now history and the overall fps rate was improved. On top of that, the client's map loading procedure was reworked. That was done, because it was causing troubles for new players. Overall loading the map and game data should be faster now.

List of changes (some of these fixes require a client restart!):
  • Afk kicker changed from 5 minutes to 10.
  • GE fountain can no longer be removed with fires.
  • Under attack timers have been increased and under attack message for players updated.
  • Karamja Agility course skull re-added.
  • More bugged spots at the GE were fixed.
  • Barbarians have received back their faces.
  • EDIT: Improved following system for PvP. Let me know if that one's better and if there are still situations where it still fails.
  • EDIT2: Following system fixed.
  • EDIT2: Rest in Pieces quest fixed.
  • EDIT2: Client's fog setting fixed (restart required).

Hey guys,

Today, I'm presenting you combat and skill timers above your chat box.


They tell you how long an effect or a skill boost is lasting. Their respective image should intuitively tell you what they stand for. Numbers containing a dot are in minutes, otherwise it's in seconds. Don't worry, you'll immediately see how the timer system works when checking it out the first time. Also don't forget, that these timers can be disabled completely at the Game Settings.

On top of that, there's also a new icon for multi combat zones! I hope you like the new one more. Special thanks to C4 Nerd for providing the new image (Discussion thread).

Moreover, the client's now also saving the fixed-screen mode. That means, if you switch to the fixed-screen mode and restart your client, it will remain in the fixed-screen mode. You no longer have to switch to the fixed-screen mode after starting the client and logging in.

Hey guys,

Thanks for testing the Grand Exchange in world 3. I hope you were having fun there not risking any items and running around in the entire Emps-World? ;) I'll fix all bugs on the Grand Exchange next week. If you find bugs/issues on the GE, please post them here.

List of updates:
  • Veteran gifts disabled. Old accounts no longer get 1mil cash and a rune armour when they existed in Emps-Scape. Too many people are abusing hacked account password lists to claim multiple veteran gifts. People banned for looting veteran gifts, may now appeal their bans in the helpdesk.
  • Godwards interface is back.
  • GE fixes. (duping, item search, etc...)
  • Name changing system started. I plan to release that after the Grand Exchange.
  • Donation logging system updated.
  • Several bugfixes from the bug report section.

IMPORTANT: Please restart your client for this update, it's mandatory for viewing multi combat zones!!


Hey guys,

I've updated major parts of the client's cache downloading procedure. The update was made, because the system was sometimes having bugs that wouldn't let your map finish loading. Moreover, you can now also toggle an option at your Game Settings that downloads the entire cache in background. Just for clarification, Graphic Settings was renamed to Game Settings, because we have a lot of different settings there. Once that is finished, you'll never experience long loading times in new areas! That process probably takes some hours, because it's slowly running in background, not touching your client's performance. There are also fps boosts for those of you who use the highest 2 rendering distance settings. Your fps rates shouldn't decrease that much anymore when completely zooming out.

Besides, I've also added a proper icon that shows if you are in a multi combat zone:


I'm sorry to say that, but the GE still requires more testing. We really can't have any serious bugs in that system! Though, we'll have an open beta in our test world soon. Where everybody can try out the system and tell us what they like/dislike!

Hey guys,

I've got quite a big change planned for today, so please take your time and read through everything. First of all, DOUBLE XP WEEKENDS are coming back!! We've had a long discussion on this and decided that toplists aren't working out for us. So we're getting rid off them and are re-introducing the loved double XP weekends. Don't be sad though, the voting shop doesn't disappear, we're renaming it to 'event shop'. You can gain event points by participating in special events or we will reward you in future competitions with event points. Event points will act the exact same way as voting points! All the voting points you currently have are automatically turned into event points.

Further double XP weekends will act as achievements. For instance, if we get additional 100 likes on Facebook, we'll have another double XP weekend. The same thing can be done with following us on Youtube or Twitter. In general, we'd like to get more in touch with social media. Our plan is to offer a possible double XP weekend every week.

Another aim is, that we want to make PK as fun as it used to be. We'd like to have your opinion on this topic. What do you think could introduce more people to PKing? I'm already  introducing a PvP point system. It can already be tested in the live game. There may be slight changes to point gains and losses, but the overall system is pretty much done.

Currently, PvP points will only be shown in the wilderness. In the final version we'll make them togglable everywhere. I'll also setup hiscores very soon for PvP points. Would you enjoy if we resetted these points on a monthly base for more competition in the wilderness? Or would you rather keep your PvP points forever?

Moreover, since the demand of 'rares' (items that can only be obtained once at a special point) is high, we're willed to introduce more to the game. These new rares are going to be more common than our bug lanterns, bunny ears and bow-swords. I can't say much about it yet, but we're planning the release already!

On top of that, I've got a list of changes ready:
  • IMPORTANT: Due to the massive amount of complaints regarding teleports in the wilderness, I'm reverting that update. Teleports no longer save you from dieing inside the wilderness. However, outside the wilderness teleports safe you.
  • Dharok axe attack speed reverted to 4 seconds (0.5 secs slower than it was). I've increased its accuracy from 131 to 151 though.
  • Colored dark bows and gnome scarfs are now tradeable.
  • Vengeance can now be used every 30 seconds.
  • The Tyras guard can now also be found at the GE. He teleports you to Castle-Wars, Pest Control, Burthorpe or Duel Arena.
  • Item models updated for PC tokens and CW tickets.
  • 5 new capes added to CW reward shop.
  • Colored dark bows are now properly usable.
  • EDIT: Hiscore images updated to match the in-game skill images. PvP Points added to hiscores.

I'm sorry, but GE isn't yet ready for a public beta! We're currently testing the final version in a closed beta. When we're 99.99% sure that there aren't any abusable bugs, we'll immediately make it public!

Hey guys,

Please note that some of the updates today are only visible when you restart your client. A client restart forces a client update, that's why!

Following things were changed:
  • Castle Wars will no longer eat your weapons when picking up flags. If you're still missing a weapon, go to the helpdesk.
  • Ring of vigour changed. It no longer gives 20% extra tickets in CW and PC. It now reduces special attack costs by 10%. That means a korasi special attack would cost 54% equipped with a ring of vigour, instead of 60%.
  • Special attack bar updated. It now shows how much special attack energy you've got left in %.
  • Korasi's special attack is now a magic attack.
  • Morrigan javelin attack speed increased from 3 seconds to 3.5 seconds.
  • Pest control base tickets changed from 50 to 25.
  • Leather items have received bonuses.
  • Barbarian, goblin, mage and archer drop tables reworked (the ones around barbarian village). They're now dropping useful items for beginners. (equipment up to level 40 excluding rune!)
  • Tree spirits removed and replaced with archers and mages. (Tree spirit slayer task was also removed)
  • The anvil in Galahad's house can now be used after completing Barbarian Assistance.
  • More barbarian archers were placed around the village.
  • Hundig now wears a Seercull instead of a shortbow. That makes it easier to identify him in his house.
  • Hundig is now a slayer master. You don't need member to get slayer tasks from him. However, he only assigns monsters around the village (mages, archers, goblins and barbarians)
  • Combat levels of goblins, archers, mages and barbarians is now 10.
  • Meteora (lunars) and Dark Mage (ancients) can now be found in Edgeville too.
  • Minimizing the client now completely pauses in-game rendering. That should fix problems where the client crashes for some people when they minimized it.
  • ::fpson / ::fpsoff was replaced by a graphic setting.

Hey guys,

Today I'm presenting you minigame changes. We've tried to think of what could bring more popularity to CW and PC, because they used to be really popular. I'm therefore presenting you some changes:

  • WildyWyrm HP nerfed from 761 to 307. To cope with that enormous nerf, I've made its good drops rarer. Dragon claw drop rate was moved from 2% to 1.5%.
  • Kalphite queen 1st form HP nerfed from 350 to 291
  • Kalphite queen 2nd form HP nerfed from 295 to 259
  • Castle-Wars changes:
    • Picking up your own team's flag now instantly puts it back to your castle. You're no longer able to hide your team's flag from the enemy team.
    • Killing other players now rewards you with tickets too. Every 5th kill gives you 1 additional ticket.
    • Scoring the team a flag point now gives you an additional ticket too.
    • A CW game can now take up to a maximum of 15 minutes. If one team scores 5 points, the game also ends.
  • Pest Control changes:
    • Shielded portals are now marked in the Pest Control main interface. Their health is cyan.
    • Portals lose their shields in a 40 seconds cycle now instead of a 60 seconds cycle.
    • Lobby timer reduced to 30 seconds from 60.
    • Korasi's sword added. It requires level 70 Attack to equip and has a nice special attack.
    • Maximum PC game round time changed to 10 minutes (down from 15).
    • Overall monster defence levels reduced.
    • Portal defence reduced to 60 (down from 200). To cope with that, they have their HP doubled to 500. Portal's HP increase with every additional 5 players in the minigame. Their HP are capped at 1000.
    • Doors at PC now remain open or closed. They don't automatically close anymore.
    • Rewarding system changed. You now need to hit at least 50 in total to gain tickets. You gain up to 250 tickets, where 50 are guaranteed and 200 come from your damage dealt. 10% of the damage you dealt is turned into tickets. So having hit a total of 2.000 results in 200 tickets. With a double XP scroll you can gain up to 500 tickets instead of 250. The ring of vigour always gives you 20% more tickets and is not capped!
  • We've also decided to make some items tradeable. The idea behind this is, that we would like to offer people a way to earn money by playing minigames. So that they are not effectively 'wasting' their time by doing so. Anyway, here's the list:
    • All void knight items.
    • Fighter torso
    • All defenders
  • Dharok's axe attack speed reduced to 3.5 seconds (originally was 4 seconds)
  • Comp ogre bow attack speed reduced to 4 seconds (originally 4.5 seconds)
  • Poison chances increased to 50%, they were 25%. Special attacks have a 100% poison chance now.
  • Morrigan javelins can now be poisoned.
  • Blood spells buffed, they now heal 5% more.

P.S. The next update will be about a new beginning for new players and hopefully an open beta version of the GE (that highly depends on how bugfree it's after our tests!!).

Hey guys,

I got quite a lot stuff changed for today. Please take your time and read through it. Some changes are really important!

We're trying to make PvP more popular. The current combat system works perfectly fine for PvM, but the hits are just too high for PvP. We're therefore nerfing some strength bonuses of high level equipment. On the other hand we'll also decrease some monster's hitpoints so that PvM won't become more difficult. On top of that, we're buffing special attacks to make PvP more exciting!

Following things have been updated:
  • IMPORTANT: Untradeable items are lost during PvP fights in the wilderness. However, if you die versus a WildyWyrm without having fought a player, you will still be able to pickup untradeable items (e.g. void knight armour). Simply said: If no other player gets your item drop in the wilderness, you can pickup your untradeables again, else you lose them. You can still pickup untradeable items everywhere and all the time outside the wilderness!
  • IMPORTANT: Teleports now block incoming hits. Whenever your teleport starts, you cannot die anymore. The only exception is if a teleblock successfully hits you during your teleport animation. That will still cancel your teleport.
  • Thrown equipment and karil's crossbow are now 0.5 seconds faster.
  • An important bug was fixed which caused the (e) bolts effect occur with a 12.5% chance rather than 25% which was always intended to be.
  • A sound bug was fixed where it would only play on full volume, although it's far away.
  • Following monster's hitpoints were changed: (from --> to)

  • Dragonfire shield strength bonus nerfed. It now gives +4.
  • Fighter torso strength bonus nerfed. It now gives +4.
  • Third age armours buffed. Every armour piece now gives +1 strength bonus. Chest and legs give +2 strength bonus.
  • Ancient armours strength bonus nerfed (vesta, statius, zuriel, morrigan): Chest and legs now give +8 strength, helm +4 strength.
  • Your equipment screen now shows bonuses for prayers and void knight armour. These bonuses are no longer invisible to you:
  • Due to the strength bonus changes, we're buffing some special attacks: (from --> to)
    • Dragon dagger: 95% --> 105%
    • Vesta longsword: 125% --> 135%
    • Vesta spear: 130% --> 145%
    • Statius warhammer: 110% --> 130%
    • Morrigan javelin & throwing axe: 125% --> 135%
    • AGS: 120% --> 131.25%
    • SGS, ZGS, BGS: 110% --> 125%
    • Seercull: 110% --> 115%
    • Magic shortbow: 85% --> 100%
    • Saradomin sword: 100% --> 110%
    • Dragon claws: 105% --> 110%
    • Dragon 2h sword: 115% --> 125%
    • Granite maul: 95% --> 105%
    • Abyssal whip: 100% --> 110%
  • God bow arrows now give equal Range strength bonus as Dragon arrows. God arrows special effect buffed, it now hits 1-5 instead of 1-4.
  • Vambraces now give Ranged strength bonus.
  • Dragon bolts (e) special effect buffed. It now does up to 25 damage (it did 20 before).
  • Onyx bolts (e) special effect changed. It now hits up to 25 damage and heals you for 20% of your hit.
  • Darkbow attack speed reduced to 4.5 seconds down from 7 seconds.
  • Vesta spear now does 90% of its special attack immediately (used to be 70%). The remaining 10% appear half a second later as 2 separated hits.
  • Spear and staff attack/block animations updated.
  • Revenants nerfed. They now hit 10 less and more 0s.
  • God capes are no longer being dropped by any monster (zamorak, saradomin and guthix cape). They will be re-added when they've become rarer.

I've also updated the client's ::multicore command. Please check it out and tell me by how much your fps rate increases! (::fpson / ::fpsoff)

Last but not least some information for the GE. As you all know, the Grand Exchange isn't an easy system. We've been testing it during the last few days to ensure that we find all possible bugs. So far, we've already found and successfully a duping bug. I hope you understand, that I can't release the GE without knowing for sure, that it doesn't contain any major issues! That's why it takes so long to get it into the live game.

Update Notes / Security Batch #2

Hey guys,

This is the final part of our security update, which gives the client and server's login communication a finishing touch. Username and password are now safely encrypted with a RSA key on the client's side. That means that it's impossible to sniff your password unless you crack a 4096 bit RSA key (which is proven to be secure as of today).

Besides, I've fixed alpha issues in the client. (that requires a restart!) Alpha made any transparent action in-game appear bugged. On top of that, I'm also applying another update that tries to fix the GWD respawning issue!

Update Notes / Security Batch #1

Hey guys,

Due to the recent website hack, I've decided that we need more security features. As you've probably also already seen, the entire homepage runs under https now. Moreover, I'm changing the hash algorithm that is used in our database to ensure that even hacked passwords will be completely worthless. And that hackers in the future have no way of decrypting 'easy' passwords anymore. I've decided to use 'bcrypt', which is not vulnerable to rainbow attacks (= simple password hacking) and not vulnerable to bruteforcing (guessing until you have the password). The reason for that lies in the complexity of the algorithm, it would take years to bruteforce a password! With this update, the in-game and forum passwords will now also be 100% equal, they are no longer stored as 2 different values.

There will also be a Security Batch #2 in the near future, where I'll make the game client to server connection safer. My plan here is to use RSA for the username and password exchange.

Please note that it's still recommended to change your password here, if you haven't already done so.

Hey guys,

I've heavily updated the client's rendering procedure. It's not yet fully completed, but the aim is to get much higher fps rates. You can already test out the new mode by typing ::multicore, it can be disabled by typing ::multicore again. If you enable ::multicore, please compare your fps rates and tell me if you actually have an improvement! (::fpson / ::fpsoff) Restart your client before you test it out, else it won't work!!

List of changes and fixes:
  • Colored darkbow attack interface and special attack fixed. They're now recognized as 'bows' at their attack styles.
  • Sacred clay armour smithing requirement lowered. You now need at least level 8 Smithing to make the whole armour.
  • Blessing clay on altars isn't bugged anymore.
  • An attempt to fix GWD spawn issues. I was able to reproduce the spawning issue there, but I'm not 100% sure if that's exactly what happened in the live version of emps.
  • Morrigan's javelin special attack fixed.
  • Sacred clay equipment on level 1 now gives bonuses.
  • Sacred clay staff is now a 1-handed weapon.

We're aware of the bug that spams "You've lost your target." in the chatbox. I'm not yet sure what exactly causes the problem. I've added some debugging code that will make it easier for me to finally find and fix the issue.

Hey guys,

Today, I'm presenting you a list of additional voting rewards. Our voting lists will reset on 1st of April, so we need all the votes you can give us now!
  • Quest cape & hood
  • Armadyl godsword :kappa:
  • Colored darkbows (require tokens + 1 darkbow)
  • Colored gnome scarfs (require tokens + 1 gnome scarf)
  • Gnome scarfs can now be obtained from the crystal key chest. (The chance to get a gnome scarf is 4x larger this week only!)

In other news:
  • Equipping and unequipping items now has sounds.
  • Better double xp timer synchronization between server and client.
  • Private message no longer open an additional chat window. They're how handled inside your chatbox and you can see all game messages while private-chatting. Moving will also no longer interrupt private messages.
  • Scrollbars have received backgrounds.
  • Npc talking/shopping updated. You'll no longer follow npcs until they stop walking. Your dialogue/shop will now always popup when you stand near them.
  • General stores buy statuettes from Revenants again.
  • Dragonhide crafting xp rates buffed.
  • Godsword attack speed increased.
  • Guthan's spear attack speed increased.
  • Granite maul special attack nerfed by 10%.
  • Dragon and Onyx bolts now require 71 Ranged and hit higher.
  • Sacred clay armour added. It scales with your levels from 1 to 50. (1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50) New accounts now get a free sacred clay armour set when completing the tutorial. Don't be sad though, you can craft this armour yourself by blessing clay (use clay on altar --> sacred clay). Afterwards you can use sacred clay to smith the equipment, simply use sacred clay on an anvil:

    Sacred clay equipment degrades after 3000 hits and cannot be repaired. Newcomers receive a free set of a sacred clay armour.
  • GWD bosses have their Defence levels adjusted. They now have the same Defence level. Before the update, Bandos and Kree'arra were especially tanky.
  • GWD spawn code changed. Bosses will now only respawn when their minions are slain.
  • GWD rare drop chances for bosses increased.
  • Slayer helm has regained its 10% accuracy bonus for on-task npcs.
  • Kebbit bolts now require level 61 Ranged and share the same strength as rune bolts. They gain additional 5% damage and accuracy if you use them during a slayer task.
  • Flickering fixed for resized openGL client.
  • Client updating procedure hardened against unstable internet connections.
  • Anger weapon attack speed increased. They now share the same attack speed as Godswords.
  • Ferocious ring can now be bought for slayer points. It features following new teleport locations:
    • Rellekka Slayer Dungeon
    • Varrock Slayer Dungeon
    • God Wars Dungeon
    • Slayer Tower
  • Games necklace added. It features following new teleport locations:
    • RevenantsDungeon (wilderness)
    • Corporeal Beast (safe area)
    • Karamja Agility Arena
    • Neitiznot Island
  • Aquanites added. They require 82 Slayer and drop Amulets of Ranging, which give 15 Ranged Strength and Accuracy.
  • Ava's accumulator effect now automatically applies in all minigames. (Duel Arena, Pest Control, Castle Wars, Fight Pits, Fight Caves (Jad) and Warrior's Guild Giants Area)

You're probably already really excited about the GE! Though, I have to admit that the initial version contains lots of bugs. Also bugs that allowed us to dupe items. We definitely don't want the GE to be released in a bugged state, so give me some more time to properly finish it. Nonetheless, I'll show you guys a screenshot of how searching is going to look like:

Hey guys,

The GE is finally going into alpha stage. We'll now be intensively testing it on our test world 3 (no open alpha; only staff will be able to test it). That means that it will be released as soon as all bugs are fixed! The GE release will be split up into 3 phases:
  • Initial GE in-game: Ability to buy/sell items over the system in-game
  • Price Monitoring: Price estimations on every item that is bought/sold on the GE system
  • Homepage Integration: Graphs of price monitoring on the homepage

In other news, I've made a list of changes:
  • You now gain additional shooting distance when fighting larger npcs.
  • Sometimes when spam-clicking 'Attack' on npcs with Ranged, you'd walk up to them. That's now fixed.
  • Jad minigame difficulty decreased. Every monster in the minigame now has 2/3 of its original health. The italian boot safespot was also improved, using it should be easier now.
  • All skeletons now count for a skeleton slayer task.
  • A bug was fixed where skillcapes disappeared upon using their emote.

Hey guys,

Today, I'm presenting you some changes to do something against the current situation in Emps-World. We have the problem of too little high level gear being in the game. On top of that, some people are just hoarding valuable items, making it impossible for others to get some! I'm therefore lowering npc combat power in general. That means that their attacks hit less often and you hit non-zeros on them more frequently. Besides that, we've also moved the GWD kill count required to enter the boss chamber, from 20 to 10.

I've also made a list of smaller changes:
  • Right-click 'Rewards' on any slayer master now opens the slayer point reward shop.
  • Slayer point reward shop now correctly displays current amount of SP.
  • A bug was fixed where npcs were quickly walking from one spot to another.
  • Magic spells splash less often. Hitting 0 with magic was always defined as a splash. If you hit 0 with magic, you now have a 50% chance to splash. That means that the other 50% of your splashes from before just hit 0 now. This sounds stupid, because you do no damage anyway? Not completely true, a splash doesn't trigger spell effects, whereas a 0 hit does!
  • Nechryaels no longer stop attacking you.
  • Client rendering improvements. People who use the openGL client should experience a bit smoother gameplay and higher fps rates.
  • Mud- & Battlestaves can now be noted.
  • Tyras guard in falador has 2 new teleport options: Warrior's Guild and Pest Control.
  • An edgeville teleport tab has been added to the voting shop. You get 5 tabs for 1 VP.
