Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Dragonfire shield special attack (operate option) updated. It's now properly working and can hit up to 70. Don't worry, you can easily block this damage in PvP situations by using antifire potions, protect from magic or anti dragon/dragonfire shields.
  • Mud patches visually updated. It's now easier to see and click on them.
  • Following 2 fighting players will no longer make your character run all over the place.
  • Killcount system updated for barrows and GWD. You'll receive the killcount immediately when the monster dies, not when the drop appears. No visual change, you get the notification faster than before.
  • Slayer tower and canifis npcs death animation finetuning (better timing).
  • Human npcs now have 2 different death animations. (includes barrow brothers)
  • Grand Exchange visually updated (only hardware renderer).
  • Fixed-screen client now supports VBO mode. If it's not enabled, I highly recommend you enable it.
  • Human npcs now have the ability to run. As for now, not many npcs are able to run yet, but we'll use this functionality in the future.
  • Map loader improvements. Loading times are much faster and much smoother now.

I'm sorry to announce that the Grand Exchange is not coming along nicely this week. We've found game breaking bugs in the system, which forces me to delay the release.

Update Notes / Updates 13/11/2015 - Texturing older Models

Hey guys,

Today's update is all about the client and its version. As some of you may have already noticed, your client is re-downloading all game files. I've made changes to many models and decided it would be good to apply those changes by clearing all game files. That ensures that everybody is on one version and old/messy code was removed.

The new system downloads and loads models in-game much faster, so you won't have to wait hours until maps load, it will be instant. If you have problems with loading the game, please make a bug report or use the helpdesk. I'll personally answer all technical problems.

As some of you probably also already noticed, model textures are enabled by default. The system is highly optimized and you'll hardly feel any performance difference if textures are enabled or not. Textures give the game a much better look, so I'd like to have them enabled for everyone. If you don't like them however, you're always free to disable them via your game settings. Included in this texture update is also the firecape. I've spent a lot of time on making it appear perfectly. The firecape now has seamless texture movement and is properly attached to both male and female characters. Hope you enjoy. :)


The Grand Exchange is also coming along nicely. With this update I'm implementing a price evaluation system, which monitors item prices. In the very end, the system is going to be an alternative to the price list, which will always be accurate based on the past item transactions. We'll be testing the price evaluator in the live game this weekend. I think that the Grand Exchange can by ready by next week, if the tests go well. The tests will be done within the staff team, so I'm sorry, but some of you cannot test the new system. I know you want to test the Grand Exchange, but it may contain game breaking bugs, which I don't want to be exposed publicly.

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Worldmap viewer entirely reworked. Instead of showing a large image, the image is now rendered directly from the Emps-World game files. Dungeons are also displayed this time! We'll also be adding our custom areas with appropriate names to the worldmap continuously.
  • New method of rendering model buffers added. Type ::multibuffer to try it out, it's a 20-25% fps boost on my desktop computer and laptop. I'd like to test it on other setups too though. Once you typed ::multibuffer, you cannot properly disabled anymore until you restart your client. Please let me know if ::multibuffer improves your fps rate and makes the game run smoother! :)
  • Gargoyles now drop bones and their size changed from 3x3 tiles to 2x2 tiles.
  • Kree'Arra now has a guaranteed drop of 150 feathers.
  • Chickens now always drop 30 feathers.
  • Perfect ring (turns you into santa) is now also unequipping your shield.

  • Grim Reaper position fixed.
  • Hunter density increased, more creatures are now available in all hunter areas.
  • EP ticket item was added to the game. It will make it easier for us to give you Event Points in form of an item now.
  • Baxtorian and GWD waterfall heights fixed.
  • Some new GE systems are also going live with this patch. We'll be collecting prices of all items to get ready for the initial release. I'm not promising the GE by next week, but it is possible! :)

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Empty pots can now be bought in the general store.
  • Flour can now be made by using grain on a pestle and mortar. You will need empty pots in your inventory for this to work.
  • Bonemeal can now also be made the same way as flour, but with bones instead of grain.
  • Bread can now be baked by using flour on a bucket of water and cooking bread dough afterwards.
  • Draynor has received dark fog:
  • Kill points calculation updated (determining who gets the drop when killing a player in wilderness). There was a bug that didn't take reflection damage into consideration (vengeance effects or ring of recoils). This bug has been fixed and kill points calculation is now proper.
  • The minimap no longer jumps to random positions while a new map is being loaded.
  • Tree model combiner code fixed. Sometimes, trees were looking really odd, e.g. their crown wasn't directly on top of the stem but there was a little gap in between them. That problem is now globally fixed. If you still find objects that are buggy, please report them!
  • Halloween event: The Grim Reaper needs your help, visit him on the top floor of Draynor Mansion:

We've reached a huge milestone with this Halloween event, because it's fully scripted in emps-script! It will allow us to deliver new content much faster.

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Minimap code overhauled. You'll no longer have random square cubes on your minimap. Transitions between different terrains are also much smoother now. Some black spots were also removed (e.g. Lumbridge).
  • Hairstyles when wearing hats have been updated. Some hairstyles are now replaced by others when wearing a hat, because they would clip with the hat model.
  • Projectile clipping code overhaul. You should no longer be able to shoot through walls (e.g. Castle Wars).
  • I've rewritten major parts in the map loader and cache downloader. Some people were still getting white screens when the map was loading or were getting white/black floors. The new system should fix these issues once and for all. If you still have these kind of issues, please make helpdesk ticket or send us a bug report.
  • Dead tree models have been updated.
  • Further improvements to the cache downloader and map loader. Overall, the system should be a little bit faster and recovers faster from invalid downloads and/or map data.
  • Bonus exp mechanics changed (brawling gloves are bonus exp). Bonus exps now add on eachother, so wearing a Mining ring and using mining brawling gloves now gives +55% exp instead of +57.5% (1,5 * 1,05). The change is minor, but makes it easier to understand where your bonus exps come from. Moreover, there's now also a limit of 2k (4k when double exp is enabled) bonus exp. Any bonus exp that exceed that limit will be capped. This change was added to avoid people from farming huge experience rewards (e.g. Pest Control).
  • A bug was fixed in the map loader, which left the floor completely white or black.
  • Dragonfire hits accuracy and attack power changed. Don't worry, the effect will really small when wearing an anti dragon shield.
  • Wyrm mounds have received attack options. Combat will now feel smoother when fighting them. You're now also completely not able to attack them during their burrow animation.
  • Forum 'Users Online' time span changed. It now shows users of the past 1440 minutes (=24 hours). I would like to see how many users visit our forum daily!
  • Farming level will now affect how many herbs you will receive compared to the requirement level and your actual level. If you pick herbs at the herb required farming level you now get 3 herbs, up to 16 herbs if your farming level is 10 levels higher than the required level. Any extra levels will not affect the amount of herbs you will get.
  • You now get +6 extra levels from a fishing potion instead of 4.
  • Slayer tasks have been overhauled to better reflect the slayer master and the skill:
    All dagannoths now count for a dagannoth slayer task, aswell as spectrals;
    You can now also receive Chaos dwarves as a medium slayer task;
    You can now receive gargoyles, skeletal wyverns and brutal green dragons from vannaka;
    You can now receive 20 to 30 Brutal green dragons from vannaka;
    You can now receive 10 to 20 Tormented demons from duradel;
    You can now also receive Chronozon as a slayer task;
    Basilisk can now only be received as a medium task;
    Troll spectators, ice spiders and spiritual beings (GWD) have been removed from slayer tasks.

    Before a couple tasks were more often assigned than other tasks, this has been adjusted to an equal chance to get any task on the list.

You may be wondering why there's no other updates listed? I'm currently working on a scripting language, that will simplify the implementation of game interactions with npcs. When the system is finished, we'll be able to speed up the implementation of quests by a lot. I'm also working on a new tutorial, which will be written completely in the scripting language. I'd say we can call it emps script! :) When emps script turns out to be really useful, we may also publish it on the forum, so that you have an insight on how content is written. I can't promise that though, it's only a thought.

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated
  • Walk and attack animations for dharok's axe and anger's axe have been improved. The holding and attack animations were a bit off, I've fixed that.
  • The occurance of verac armour's effect now has a graphic, showing that your opponent's defence was ignored.
  • You no longer need to relog to claim your Donation Points (DP). They'll be added to your account once the payment is completed and you're standing in a safe zone. They won't be added in non-safe pvp zones and when you're in combat.
  • Switching weapons code updated. Your attack style (xp gain) will now always be preserved when your new weapon has that xp gain style too. The lonely exception are controlled (mixed xp) and strength styles. If no matching xp gain can be found, it will switch to either strength or mixed xp, whatever is available at your new weapon. An example would be switching from a whip to an ags, which would switch from mixed to to strength xp and vice versa.
  • Attack styles and xp gains are now properly saved upon logout.
  • Saradomin brews now decrease range and magic levels too. The decrease mechanics were changed. Saradomin brews now reduce your attack, strength, magic and range level by 5% per sip. Meaning, that if you take a sip of your saradomin brew with 118 Attack, it goes down to 112 Attack.
  • Zamorak brew now decreases your attack, defence, range and magic levels by 5% per sip. Strength boost of 25% remains untouched. Additionally, the zamorak brew now also heals hitpoints, just like the saradomin brew.
  • Super combat potions are now available at level 79 Herblore. They can be made by combining a super strength, super attack, super defence and a clean cadantine herb. They give bonus stats of the 3 potions mentioned previously.
  • Lumbridge training dummies added. They show your DPS:
  • Projectile and graphic timing of all projectiles updated. Casting magic spells looks smoother now.
  • Spell splashing removed. Instead of splashing, you'll now see the spell graphic with a 0 hit. This has absolutely no other effect than better visual feedback on what spell your opponent has used. It also means that you can use stat draining spells more effectively now.
  • Antifire potions added. They block more dragonfire damage than a anti dragon shield, but less damage than a dragonfire shield. Antifire potions also work against enchanted dragonstone bolts!
  • Potion decanting overhaul. You can now fill your potions to a maximum of 4 doses.
  • Potion decanter added to the Grand Exchange. Talk to Bob Barter to decant all of your potions in your inventory to (4) doses. Bob doesn't do work for free, it costs 1.000 gp per inventory to decant your potions.

Hey guys,

I'm currently working on a new game loader. It will allow you to configure the client startup (classic, openGL client, ram usage, etc...) and will inform you about the latest updates. The images on the left are a slideshow that contain images of the latest updates. You can scroll it up and down and when hovering over an image, it enlarges.



Do you like/dislike it? What do you like, what do you dislike, how can it be improved? I'm open for suggestions!

Hey guys,

Following things have been changed:
  • The client's update process was improved. Fresh client downloads will now download files much faster, especially at higher pings.
  • Clicking areas for ground items fixed. They were sometimes wrong when multiple items were on the ground. The clicking are of the largest item on ground is now the clicking area used for all other items on top of those.
  • Castle-Wars maximum barricade formula changed. Larger teams are now able to setup more barricades and smaller teams less barricades.
  • Guardian Angels no longer cost 1m, but 200 DP. I'm sorry, but 1m to protect your entire setup is just too good. I would like to bring back some danger to actually killing bosses (also re-introduces an item sink). It should also improve the market prices of expensive high-end gear. Moreover, when you buy a GA, you get a ticket that can be traded with other players. Effectively, you can now sell GAs to other people.
  • GA tickets can now also be bought in Bolkoy's donator store.
  • God bows are now attacking with the same speed as other shortbows again. I've reduced their accuracy from 100 to 92 to still make elemental bows viable in combat compared to god bows.
  • Hunters' crossbow accuracy reduced to 92 from 100.
  • Tormented demon drop tables reworked. You'll get more valuable items in general and the crystal drop rates have been doubled. The chance to get any crystal is 1 in 125, the chance to get a specific crystal is 1 in 500. (why? the drop rate of 1 crystal is 1 / 500, so  4 * (1 / 500) = 4 / 500 = 1 / 125)
  • The Emps-World game loader has been updated. Let me know what you think about it:

    Please bear in mind that you're not forced to use this new loader, I highly recommend using it though, because it gives you more configuration options. How to get it? Just re-download the game here: https://emps-world.net/Emps-World.exe
  • A new loading bar has been added to the client.
  • The halloween logo is now displayed on the homepage and client.
  • Female arrow drawback animation fixed. The arrow should now be displayed on the proper position.

  • Tormented demon deflect timer adjusted. Damage is only rejected when you actually see the flame cage. The deflect chance was also decreased, it's now 15% when not enraged and 25% when enraged (enraged = red skull).

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Smoother map loader. You should no longer get white screens when walking into another region. The overall loading process should now also be much quicker than before. Please bear in mind that teleporting will still give you a white screen, because there's no map that could be displayed during that time!
  • Huge performance upgrades for the client. Our new client (with HD textures) was running slow on laptops. I've spent the entire last week on optimizing and tweaking the game experience especially for weaker laptops. By the time that you read this topic, you'll probably already have our latest client with the latest performance updates. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, it's difficult to test updates on many different devices for me. These performance updates were programmed on my laptop with the CPU clocked down by 50%, giving me a perfectly slow machine. If you're still having problems with the client's performance, please use the Helpdesk, or the Bug Report section. Also, before you request help, try to increase your FPS rate by changing graphic settings. I also recommend to cap the FPS rate at 60 or at whatever maximum refresh rate your monitor has.
  • A bug was fixed that allowed you to hit especially high, when timing the usage of darts and switching your weapon to another weapon with a higher maxhit, before the hit was applied
  • The textures of fire capes and magic trees are now animated again. It's disabled by default, because it's giving you a little drop in fps. Though, you're now free to enable it at your Game Settings. This only works when vbo-mode is enabled!
  • Fixed screen is now available for vbo-mode.
  • Textures of grass has been updated, should look better now. (Grass is only visible when ground decorations are enabled)
  • Drop amounts for morrigan axes and spears changed. Spectrals will now drop 15-25 axes/javelins instead of 100-150.
  • Drop amounts for dragon darts changed. Barrow chest now gives 25-50 dragon darts instead of 50-100.
  • Attack power (max hit) of darts and knives was nerfed. Accuracy remains untouched.
  • Chaos elemental now drops the elemental bow.
  • Chronozon has been made stronger and now drops the elemental staff, which gives infinite amounts of air, water, earth and fire runes.
  • Tormented demons have been added to varrock/lumbridge's slayer dungeon, which drop elemental crystals. These crystals can be used on whips, elemental staff and elemental bow to get a temporary upgrade. Upgraded elemental weapons degrade after 5.000 uses in combat. When degrading, there's a 50% chance that you get back the used weapon, or the used elemental crystal.
  • Where to get elemental crystals? We've got new level 77 slayer monsters, tormented demons:
  • Bolt effect occurance chance changed from 20% to 25%. Moreover, onyx bolts' maximum extra damage was reduced from 25 to 20. We changed them, because we want to rebalance their usage in pvp situations.
  • God bows now attack 0.5 seconds slower. God bows special hit reduced to 1-4 from 1-5. I know that this nerf is big, but god bows are much stronger than any other tier 80 ranged weapon and we'd like to bring some equality to level 80 ranged gear!
  • Dragon claws special attack max hit buffed to 125% from 115%.
  • Drop rates of draconic visages were lowered. They're now a 1 in 1000 drop for black, green brutal, mithril, frost and king black dragons.

Hey guys,

Following things were updated:
  • Prayer points system (internally) updated. You'll see no difference, other than the prayer drain calculation to be more exact. Moreover, prayer points also have a higher effect on prayer drains now.
  • Fog is now working for vbo-mode. I highly recommend enabling it, because it gives the game a much better depth! :D (only openGL mode) Here's an example:
  • Rendering Distance settings have been updated. The furthest 2 settings (70 and 80) have been updated and are now 80 and 100. Please bear in mind that very high viewing distances are also a lot of stress for your computer. Make sure you don't lag when using them.
  • Map loader updated. Entering a new region should be smoother and faster now.
  • Dragon claws special attack accuracy buffed from 135% to 150%.
  • Chaos elemental now drops saradomin, guthix and zamorak capes.
  • Model textures vastly improved, take a look:

    Textures are now also stored in an atlas, which gives way less stress to the rendering process. On my computer, I don't even feel a difference in fps whether textures are enabled or not.
  • Magic and ranging potions are now super magic and super ranging potions. They give equal stat bonuses than any other super potions.
  • Larger click areas on monsters, objects and players have been added to vbo mode.
  • A new shortcut from Lumbridge castle's cellar now exists to Varrock's slayer dungeon. There's now also a bank chest available in Lumbridge castle's cellar.
  • A teaser for the SOON-TO-BE released elemental weaponry. You'll be able to upgrade whips, elemental bows (yes, it's finally there!) and elemental staves. The preparations for new slayer monsters that will drop the required items are still under construction and I don't know all the details yet. I've removed a special group of monsters in a dungeon, that will be one place for the new monsters! We'll give you the details and the elemental weaponry release next week! :) I can already tell you, that all elemental weapons will be tier 80 weapons, meaning that we're now also finally getting a fast level 80 melee weapon! All whips will be upgradable and get a unique look.

  • As you've probably already seen in the screenshot from above, the old firecape is back! I'm still working on its animation, but for now you can enjoy the old and neat texture. Please bear in mind that the firecape won't look like that on the classic client, only openGL!!

Today's update is all about our homepage. Some of you are already using the new default forum theme. If not, you'll automatically be switched to it within the coming minutes. Our front page has received new button colors and is using a new background picture.

On top of that, the entire page is a responsive design now. That means, that it will also be user friendly to any mobile phone or tablet.

I've been working on this quite a while now and would like to have some feedback. I've added a new forum theme and edited it for the past few days to match the Emps-World style. The new theme is called 'Greeny' and I'd like to make it the forum default, because it's a very clean and mobile friendly theme!

Hey guys,

Following things have been updated:
  • Combination capes have been added to the skillcape shop in Falador. The level requirements should be pretty much self-explanatory. Two levels on 99 are required to wear one of the capes. Monster hunter and skirmisher cape require 3 levels on 99.
  • Skillcape animation timers updated. You can no longer equip/unequip any items while doing a skillcape animation. Moreover, you now have to wait for the skillcape animation to finish, before being able to do it again.
  • Mining rocks should no longer let them appear in wrong directions.
  • Pirate's hook has been removed, because we couldn't find a proper model for it. It has been replaced with a newly colored pirate's hat.
  • Ring of vigour received a hover description.
  • Shop interfaces updated. The first row of items is now properly clickable.
  • Bank searching should no longer bug with private messaging people.
  • Torag hammers fixed on female bodies.
  • Swamp trees in Lumbridge swamp can now be chopped down.
  • Moss giant variants added. You'll now find different types of moss giants (only visual change). Moss giant's hitpoints were also decreased to 70. There's now a level 84 moss giant variant too. Droptables have also been reworked, see the wiki for more details. Swamp tar item spawns were added around the moss giants east of Barbarian village.
  • Hill giant variants added and droptables reworked. Their hitpoints were decreased to 45.
  • Green, blue, red, black and frost dragon variants added.
  • Ice giant variants added.
  • Lesser, greater and black demon variants added.
  • Block animations for monsters and players will appear more often now.
  • When using the max cape's emote, there's now a 50% chance that you will turn into a gold dragon.
  • Obsidians are dropping a proper amount of tokkuls again.
  • Frost dragon variants added and more frost dragon spawns added to neitiznot island.

Updates of 03/09:
  • Brimhaven agility arena darts and spinning blades updated. They'll look much smoother now.
  • Right-click 'Join' added to your friends-list. When joining a friend, you'll immediately log to their world. It's basically quick world hopping.
  • Pirate leggings fixed, they're now tradeable.
  • Dragon claws fixed, their special attack damage was bugged.
  • Npc drop tables fixed, the drops weren't truly random anymore. The drop lists are now also shuffled for even more randomness.
  • Banshees fungi and potato cactus drops fixed.
  • Anger sword and spear deal damage again.


Hey guys,

Following things were updated:
  • Bandos helm now has a chat head model.
  • Fox tail is now properly animated.
  • Item sprites in shop interface are no longer removed earlier than needed.
  • Donator blades' special attack no longer deals a fixed amount of 20. They can be worn at level 1 now and will deal 55% of the original weapon damage as second special attack hit.
  • The equipment screen is now showing your normal and special attack maxhit.
  • Hover boxes in all interfaces have also been updated, see the previous screenshot for an example. On top of that, special items, such as barrows, spirit shields, etc. have received a hover info box saying something about the item's special effect.
  • Dragon axe special attack updated. It now costs 25% and deals 5% more damage. It can now be used on trees and instantly cuts 2 logs at the same time.
  • Some images out our wiki have been fixed.
  • Drop tables of low level npcs updated (men, women, etc...)
  • Scorpions have new drop tables with slave robes as very rare drop.
  • Pirates have new drop tables with pirate equipment as very rare drop.
  • Many pirate spawns have been added to Brimhaven.
  • Karil crossbow attack and block animation updated. The crossbow's bolt projectile speed was also increased.
  • Magic log, fishing net and granite shield item sprites fixed. They're no longer white.
  • Attack option priority setting added. When enabled, the attack option will always appear first.
  • Flickering of falador roofs and rugs fixed (only vbo mode).
  • Unicorns received new drop tables.
  • The under attack delay between 2 players in the wilderness was increased by 4 seconds. It now takes 4 seconds longer before somebody can pj you.
  • Banshees droptable updated. Mort myre fungi and potato cactus are now dropped more frequently as un-noted version. Their noted version still remains in the drop table.
  • Some black spots on the minimap were fixed.

  • GWD entrance object changed. It's now a hole instead of a boulder.
  • Login messages updated for bans. In case of a ban on an account, the ban reason will be displayed at the login screen.
  • Login delay added. Sometimes, when relogging with an account, you get the message, that it's already online. There's now a delay of 7 seconds before being able to re-connect to the server. The 7 second delay is needed for your account to be marked as offline at the loginserver.
  • More ghost spawns have been added to the Barbarian dungeon.
  • Slayer dialogues updated. When talking to a slayer master with an active task, the same dialogue options as from an enchanted gem will pop up.
  • Cancelling slayer tasks is now possible by paying 1.000 slayer points via the enchanted gem or by talking to any slayer master.
  • Enchanted gem can now show kill logs.
  • Kill logs interface updated. Top area was removed, because it serves no purpose. Moreover, there's now a button which let's you toggle kill logs between bosses, slayer monsters and all monsters. <-- still under construction, sorry!
  • Eating is smooth again. Clicking any food during the eat animation will queue it up again.
  • Morrigan javelin's special attack nerfed. The damage over time effect now deals 80% of the original damage instead of 100%. The initial special max hit remains the same, it's still viable for killing people, but won't be disastrous for low health targets anymore.
  • A lot more fountains can now be used as water source.
