Guides / Re: [Moneymaking] Logs and Planks
« on: March 31, 2017, 11:23:22 am »
In its current form the guide is great, still I would like to see how many logs I can turn into planks per hour.

I calculated this. For me it took 41 seconds to make 1 trip of planks while using varrock teleport. So this means that you will be making 87 trips per hour and that converts to 2370 planks per hour.

    Kalphite Queen Killing Guide

    Catalogue

    I.   Introduction
    II.   Requirements
    III.   Location
    IV.   Killing strategy
    V.   Other

    I. Introduction

Kalphite Queen is one of the 11 bosses in Emps-World, located in South Al-Kharid, Kalphite Hive. As she is at Al-Kharid, you will need active membership to be able to get there. Kalphite Queen, also known as KQ, is known for its trimmed amulet drops: amulet of strength (t), amulet of glory (t) and amulet of magic (t). It’s a strong boss, so I don’t recommend you to kill it by yourself if you don’t have decent gear and stats.

    II. Requirements:

    1.   Active membership
    2.   Range/Magic & Defence level 90+, Prayer level 70+
    3.   Decent range/mage gear
    4.   Rope
    5.   Antipoison/Poison purge

    • I have stated the reason for the 1st and 2nd requirement in the introduction, so I’m not going to talk about it more at this section. KQ hits quite hard with all combat styles, so you will need a good gear to kill it. Here I have listed some gears that you could use. You can also use other equipment.

    Helm: Armadyl Helmet/Third-age range coif/Void ranger/mage/melee helm/Battle robe hood/Bandos Helm
Body: Armadyl chestplate/Third-age range top/Void knight top/Battle robe top/Bandos Chestplate
Legs: Armadyl chainskirt/Third-age range legs/Void knight robe/Battle robe bottom/Bandos Tasset
Boots: Glaiven boots (range)/Ranger boots/Ragefire boots (magic)/Battle robe boots/Steadfast boots
    Gloves: Armadyl Gloves/Barrow gloves/Void Knight gloves/Battle robe gloves/Bandos gloves
Ring: Ring of Vigour/Ring of Stone/Imbued Fremennik Rings
    Cape: Max cape/Ava’s accumulator/Abyssal Cape/God capes/Fire Cape
Amulet: Amulet of Fury/Amulet of glory (t)/Amulet of Ranging/Amulet of Magic (t)/Amulet of Strenght (t)
    Weapon: God bow/Hunters’ crossbow/Dragon dart/Rod of Ivandis/Zuriel’s staff/Staff of light/Zamorakian spear/Anger axe
Shield: Divine spirit shield/Dragonfire shield/Elysian spirit shield/Ice shield
    Arrows: God arrows/Dragon arrows/Dragon bolts (e)/Onyx bolts (e)/Emerald bolts (e)
    Aura: Poison purge/Vampyrism

    An inventory you could have:

    • If you are using Void range/mage set, I also suggest you to bring Void melee helm and a Saradomin Godsword. It is very useful, since it can heal your hitpoints and prayer points. Use SGS special attack on Kalphite Guardians, since they have lower defence. Having SGS in inventory is optional though.

To get to KQ, you will also need a rope. You can buy it from Brian, who is located at Draynor Village. The rope costs 23 coins. If you teleport there, you will teleport to the “Blue dot”. Brian is at the “Red dot”.

    • KQ melee attacks also deal poison damage, which starts from 1, and goes up to 15. That is why it is good to have (super)antipoison potion or poison purge. If you don’t bring any of these, the poison will deal quite a significant amount of damage in the long run.

    III. Location

As stated before, KQ locates at Kalphite Hive. You can get there with following steps:
    1.   Teleport to Al-Kharid, and then go to South direction, as marked in the picture. Climb down the “Tunnel entrance”. (“Blue dot” is the place you will get teleported. “Red dot” is where the “Tunnel entrance” is.)

    2.   Now you are in Kalphite Hive upper level. You will be at the yellow arrow after you climbed down the “Tunnel entrance”. Follow the blue line marked on the picture to get to the red dot.

    3.   When you are there, you will see a “Tunnel entrance”. Use “rope” on it, and then you can climb down the “Tunnel entrance”. Now you are at lower level of Kalphite Hive. KQ is there. (“Red dot” is the place KQ will spawn, “Orange dot” are the places Kalphite guardian will spawn, “Black dot” are the 2 safespots I recommend to use.)

    IV. Killing Strategy

KQ is a monster with 2 forms, just like Corporeal Beast. When the 1st form dies, the 2nd one will pop out. Besides that, both of those forms also have protection prayer. The 1st form has protection from Magic and Range, while the 2nd form has protection from Melee. KQ hits with all combat styles, so using only one protection prayer won’t neglect all the damage.

KQ's magic attack is a lightning discharge directed at you. However, the animation is slow enough that in the reaction time, you can switch another prayer protection to protect from Magic, and reduce the damage inflicted to you. KQ will attack with a magic attack if you see some electricity between her antennae. After the magic attack has landed, switch back to your original prayer protection. (Note that KQ’s magic attack will drain your prayer points, regardless of the inflicted damage.)

KQ's Range attack is though much faster, and you can’t switch the protection prayer in that time.

    SOLO:
    • Melee: Using melee is quite simple. Use protect Melee, and switch to protect from Magic when KQ is about to use magic attack. That way you can reduce the damage magic attack will normally inflict to you.
    • Range/Magic: Killing the KQ from safespot won’t let her to attack you with melee, which is one of the reason why to use range/magic to kill her. If you lure the KQ to the safespot in right order, you can also avoid Kalphite Guardians’ hits. They can hit up to 20.
    • Now KQ can hit you with magic and range attacks. At the start, use protect from Range. When KQ is about to use Magic attack, switch to protect from Magic, and then switch back to protect from range. Using this strategy requires you to focus for the whole time, constantly switching prayers. However, doing this notably reduces the damage you will receive. Within all this business, remember to keep an eye on your prayer points, and drink prayer potions once in a while.

Here are the screenshots from the 2 safespots you could attack the KQ.

    • If you are using void set, I highly suggest you to bring melee and range/magic gear. Kill the 1st form with melee, and the 2nd form with range/magic increases your killing speed pretty much. Using only one combat style, killing one KQ takes around 3 minutes. If you use hybrid combat, it takes a bit more than 2 minutes. It is recommended to use this tactic also if you are killing it with your friend(s).

    V. Others

    Droptable

    • The rumour about that the guy who deals most damage to the 2nd form will get the drop is not true. I tested this myself: player who deals most damage in total gets the drop. I think this also applies on Corporeal Beast.

    • Here is a video about how to get there, and how to kill it, if it wasn’t very clear from my guide. There were some copyrights-issue about music, so I ended up to the decision with no music. Play your own music on the background if it gets boring  ;).

    • If you don’t know about an item I mentioned in the guide, you can always search about it from Emps-Wiki. It has been created for a good reason.

    • This was my first guide, also that video was my first edit ever (yeah, I totally have no clue how to make good videos, it doesn’t even have background music). Any feedback is welcomed.

Screenshots / Loot from (almost) 4k revenants
    « on: January 22, 2017, 07:50:20 am »
My main goal by killing Revenants was to obtain every single 3rd age piece. This took me 3717 kills.

    - 1547 hell  hounds
    - 1217 demons
    - 874 dark beasts
    - 47 vampyres
    - 32 werewolves

Here's the rough loot. I didn't pick up everything, just blood and death runes and herbs. Herbs are irits, cadantines, lantadymes and avantoes.
I died ~30 times and one pair of melee legs were not picked up cos I was annoyed.

    Guides / [Skill]Prayer guide
    « on: May 24, 2015, 11:13:42 am »

Prayer is one of the most practical skills in the game. It's uses go from boosting your damage output to almost fully protecting you from attacks. In both pvp and pvm prayer is used very extensively. Leveling it up can be a bit tedious however. This guide will tell you how. This guide contains clickable links to the wiki, so feel free to click around. Clicking the prayer icon will take you to the wiki page for it.

    Table of contents
    • The advantages of prayer
    • Prayer points
    • Prayer effects
    • Exp rates
    • Training methods
    • Tips & tricks

    The advantages of prayer

As said in the intro, prayer has various different effects which help you in combat. These go from simple stat boosts, to full protections. Why should you use these? Because they're a massive factor in fighting efficiently. Let's take protect from melee as an example; if you're fighting a monster that deals a lot of melee based damage, you'll reduce your damage taken by a significant amount if you pray. This could mean more kills, less supply used, and longer trips, thus more efficiency.

    Prayer points

It isn't all for free though. Your prayer level is equal to the amount of prayer points you have, and these will drain slowly if you are using any prayers. The rate at which it does depends on what prayers you are using. Prayer points can be restored in various ways, the easiest way is by talking to a healer or praying at an altar, this will restore them back to full. There are also prayer and super restore potions which restore prayer points for when you aren't near one.

    Prayer effects

I will now be listing all the various effects you can get with prayer. These will be listed by type, you can not turn on multiple prayers of the same type at the same time. There are a few prayers that this rule doesn't apply to, protect item, rapid heal and rapid restore. You can also use 1 overhead prayer while using another prayer. This is a list of all the prayers by type, prayers in the same table can't be turned on at the same time.
    • Melee boosts

    • Range boosts
    • Magic boosts
    • Defence boosts
    • Overhead prayers
    • Other prayers
    Exp rates
There is a whole variety of bones, ranging from really low exp (normal bones) to high exp (dragon and frost dragon bones). If you plan on collecting a certain type of bone, keep in mind the higher prayer exp they give, the more likely it is that they're hard to get.

    Training methods

Simply burying all the bones you get from killing monsters is a pretty standard method to level up prayer, however it might be better to collect bones and bury them when there's double exp, or use them with brawlers. Buying the bones is an expensive method, but it is reliable. As far as getting your own prayer experience goes, I recommend the following two things.

    Collecting bones

You don't see people camping blue dragons for nothing, they drop dragon bones, which are the second best bones in the game. Blue dragons are the easiest dragons outside of the wilderness, but that doesn't mean you can't kill other dragons. Red, black, brutal and mithril dragons are also great alternatives. Frost dragons beat them all though. I'd recommend killing frost dragons at Neitiznot island if you have high combat stats and at least 65 agility, their bones bury for a whopping 5,625 exp with double and brawlers.

If you don't know how to go about killing frosts, you can find a guide for it here.

If you can't go to frost dragons, I recommend you kill any chromatic dragon.

    Pest control

You can also get prayer exp from the pest control minigame. For 100 tickets you can get an exp amount dependant on your level, the higher the level the more exp. This is a great method if you have a lot of pest control tickets, you can get 99 prayer pretty easily using this method. Double exp and brawlers also work on the exp rewards from the minigame.

    Tips & tricks

If you collect your bones, don't bury them unless it's double exp, it'll save you a lot of time or money on the bones.
Brawler gloves, which can be obtained from the castle wars minigame give a 1.5x exp boost to prayer as well, this stacks with double exp for a total of 3x exp.

And that's the end of the guide. If you have any improvements to it please post. And if this guide was useful to you feel free to give it a thank.

    Guides / [Moneymaking] Astral runes
    « on: April 30, 2015, 10:47:49 pm »
This is a moneymaking guide that doesn't have that many requirements to it. It's a great way to start rebuilding your bank if you lost it. This might be ever so slightly boring, I suggest you watch a movie or series while doing this. The money from this guide is in the astrals, you'll need to sell them. This guide contains clickable links, feel free to use them to get to their wiki pages.

    Requirements
    Skills you'll get exp in

    Setup/inventory

    Location
You will be mining your own ess in the essence mine, and then superheating it. You will need to teleport, ask Aubury, he can be found in Varrock and Port sarim. Just right click on him and use teleport.

    Varrock:

    Port sarim:

    The progress

Now that we're finally inside the ess mine we can start. Mine the essence until your inventory is full, then simply superheat the essence. The spell will ignore your runecrafting and smithing level. You will get 10 astral runes for every 4 essence you superheat. So one nature rune will get you 10 astral runes. This method is great because you'll never need to bank until you run out of nature runes.

    Some stats

    Ess mined per hour: ~2880
    Astrals created per hour: ~7200

    Without double exp:
    Mining per hour: 126,720 exp
    Magic per hour: 498,240 exp
    Smithing per hour: 43,200 exp
    Runecrafting per hour: 43,200 exp

    No dxp, goldsmith gauntlets:
    Smithing per hour: 45,360 exp

    No dxp, chaos gauntlets
    Runecrafting per hour: 45,360 exp

    With double exp:
    Mining per hour: 253,440 exp
    Magic per hour: 996,480 exp
    Smithing per hour: 86,400 exp
    Runecrafting per hour: 86,400 exp

    Dxp, goldsmith gauntlets:
    Smithing per hour: 90,720 exp

    Dxp, chaos gauntlets
    Runecrafting per hour: 90,720 exp

This is the end of my guide. I hope this will help you earn some money. If you have any tips to make this guide better, feel free to post. If it helped you, feel free to give the post a thank as well.
