After cutting it once you can cut it once again to turn it into 15 Sapphire bolt tips which grants you another 200 Crafting experience.
Uncut sapphires can be obtained in several ways. Players can get them randomly while opening Caskets and Mining Ores, by mining the Gem rocks on Island of Neitiznot, as drops from Monsters or receiving them as a reward from Random Events. Also, Uncut sapphires can be obtained by training Thieving at the Gem stall located in Al-Kharid and Ardougne, this requires Thieving level 80.
