Sharks can be fished by players who have a Fishing level of 70 or higher but require a Cooking level of 75 to cook. They heal 20 hitpoints each. Sharks are fished with harpoons. Sharks give 389 Fishing experience per catch and 406 Cooking experience when cooked.

Sharks are the one of the most popular food item because they are a high-healing food that can be easily caught in large amounts. There are a few better foods, but these are difficult to obtain in large amounts, making them expensive. Because of this, sharks are widely used for player killing and dueling.
