The Mithril platebody requires a Defence level of 20 to wear. It can be purchased for 5,752 coins in the Armour shop in Barbarian village and Al-Kharid. It can also be made by using the Smithing skill. This requires a smithing level of 68 and 5 Mithril bars and will grant 1,700 smithing experience. The mithril platebody provides the same stats as the Mithril chainbody, but they just look different.
