Coal is one of the main resources for Smithing to create the higher tiers of bars. Coal can be found and mined in the Falador Mining guild, in Barbarian village and various other places. 4 rocks in Barbarian village is the closest place to a bank.

The amount of coal to create bars may vary depending on the level of the Smithing required to create the material type of the bar, and the ore being used with it.
