The Steel platebody requires a Defence level of 5 to wear. It can be obtained as drop from Hill giant. It can be purchased for 2,302 coins in the Armour shop in Barbarian village and Al-Kharid. It can also be made by using the Smithing skill. This requires a smithing level of 48 and 5 Steel bars and will grant 1,300 smithing experience. The steel platebody provides the same stats as the Steel chainbody, they just look different.
