The steel sq shield requires a defence level of 5 to be worn. It can be purchased for 726 coins in the shield shop in Falador. It can also be made by using the smithing skill. This requires a smithing level of 38 and 2 steel bars and will grant 520 smithing XP. The steel sq shield provides the same stats as the steel kiteshield, they just look differently.
