Any items on the ground will disappear and the instance will be deleted if there are no more players in it after two minutes. However, certain bosses like Nex will have their loot remain in the instance for players to re-obtain if they rejoin.

For certain bosses, players can also choose to "Join instance (hm)", allowing them to fight the hardmode version of said boss.
