Hey guys,

I've decided to change a few things with this update. Most important being untradeable equipment and Slayer! I'm also working on HD water, which will improve the game's quality even more. Have fun! :D

Untradeable Equipment
With the recent changes to the death mechanic, I no longer see a reason for certain items to be tradeable. I've created a list of items which can no longer be traded:
  • Defenders
  • Void knight equipment (also korasi's sword)
  • Fighter torso
Quick reminder from previous updates: If these items are lost in a fight in PvP zones, your enemy will get a cash drop instead.

Slayer
You haven't seen an update in Slayer for a while, so I've overhauled the internal code completely and added some new things. You can now get a larger variety of monsters as tasks. Moreover, I've created a formula that calculates the combat strength of a monster. With this formula I've redone the task set of slayer masters.
There's now also a new slayer master, Shenven in the Ancient Caves. She only assigns very tough monsters. That includes all bosses around Emps-World and even Jad! The dialogue system of all Slayer Masters has also completely been rewritten and new task monsters have been added.



New Slayer Point shop items (20k SP per weapon):
  • Chaotic longsword, rapier and maul: Level 72 Attack and Slayer: Boosts accuracy and strength during slayer tasks by 10%.
  • Chaotic staff: Level 72 Magic and Slayer: Boosts mage accuracy and strength during slayer tasks by 10%.
  • Chaotic crossbow: Level 72 Ranged and Slayer: Boosts range accuracy and strength during slayer tasks by 10%.
Chaotic equipment degrades after 15,000 charges and can be repaired with coins. The price for a full repair is 1,000,000 coins. Some people may not like the release of 'especially' these weapons, but I think that they are in a really good spot as Slayer rewards. They definitely won't outperform other high-level weapons outside of Slayer tasks and will make bosses during tasks easier to solo.


HD Water
Water has massively been reworked and is now in public beta. I've created dynamic water planes that are animated. We'll be testing the code in several areas to verify if everything is working out properly. Don't worry if you dislike it though, you can toggle the water quality via the game settings. Please bear in mind that this change doesn't have any large impact on performance! The water animation now is in low quality and I am currently working on reflections and better water surfaces.


Following things have been changed:
  • Floor in houses of Port Sarim has been updated. It's now looking better and less cluttery.
  • Fps rate setting has been changed. You can now select the following steps: 30, 60, 80, 144 and inf.
  • Charges of fremennik ring upgrades has been increased from 3000 to 15000. I want these rings to be useful and not break in the middle of a fight.
  • Korasi's sword accuracy and strength bonuses have slightly been buffed.
  • Accuracy bonuses of fremennik helms has been buffed.
  • Bar smelting level requirements and experience rates updated.

Updates of 21st:
  • Chaotic longsword slightly buffed.
  • Stat buffs for longswords (bronze - dragon).
  • Chaotic maul and gladiator maul animations updated. These new animations fit better and don't differ too much. You're still holding the weapon the same way.
  • Proper attack interface for all swords added.
  • Degradeable equipment can now be checked again.
  • Fighter torso now scales with your level up to 70. This also increases its accuracy and strength bonus accordingly.

- Make posting on forums cost 1m per post, 10m per thread and 100k per shoutbox shout
- Make logging in to the game cost 1m per login
- Make starting a PC game cost 1m and a CW game 5m
- Make teleporting to duel arena cost 100m per teleport
- Make talking to bankers cost 2m
- Make bronze degradable and repairable for 500k a piece and make bronze items a component to fix high-level equipment along with another 500k cash per piece
- Make selling items to General Store actually drain your cash stack
-  Make training skills past 20m xp cost 1m per 1m xp
- Make getting a slayer task cost 10m
- Make max cape cost 70k PGB each
- And finally, make kebab the best food in the game and make it only available from a NPC in Al Kharid for 100k gp each
I compiled this quick exaggerated list to let you guys know how stupid some of your moneysink ideas sound to me. You're welcome!

Anyway, most of the ideas have been along the lines of adding staking fees and making more items degrade. The problem with that crap is that the prior only proves how bad the actual content of this game is at keeping players on playing the game instead of staking and the latter only hurts the casual players who most of the time are poor beggars to begin with.

I'm not saying that sinks shouldn't be suggested at all. I'm saying that we should start adding new content along with those sinks. There's no goddamn point in adding sinks to parts of the game that worked perfectly fine in scape without any sinks at all. That's essentially taking things away from us that were once already given to us.

Construction is an excellent example that we should be getting relatively soon. Anyone can train it to 99 for a relatively cheap cost, but you can go so much beyond that by customizing your house and enlarging your e-penis with decorations, potentially the gilded altar, portals and such the more mulah you have.

A great example from RS3 are the boss instances. Instances are your personal boss rooms that allow you to set the number of players who can join you, their minimum combat level and the spawn speed of the boss. These typically cost 200k-1m per hour to use. They give rich high-level players the benefit of getting faster spawn speeds and more kills per hour for a cost of money that is sinked from the game. New players can still go to the regular boss rooms for free with no fear of being crashed by high-levels.

The grave system is also pretty smart in RS3 nowadays. You can either pay a sum of cash depending on how much wealth your items dropped on death are worth or you can choose to pay nothing, risk losing your items and run back to your death location to pick up your items. Here's a short explanation of the system and more can be read on RS wiki: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Death_(mechanic)

"Items worth up to 10,000 coins cost 15% to save and have a 60% sacrifice value. Items worth more than 10,000 coins have a decreasing percentage to save ending at 0.5% at an item worth upwards of 10,000,000 coins. All costs are rounded down. The minimum value reclaim can be is 1 coin. Sacrifice is always four times the cost of reclaim's final value.''

Construction, boss instances and the death system if RS3 all have one thing in common: the option of paying for QoL advantages that are in no shape or form mandatory. This is the kind of shit you guys should be suggesting to improve the game instead of trying to force lunatic sinks on everybody, even on those who are struggling with the game as it currently is.

The video itself is ay okay and it sure is nice to be apart of it but you shouldn't forget that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

Since iron brony failed his UIM i decided to make a page aswell based on my UIM (U I M Docks)
WILL BE UPDATING THIS EVERY FRIDAY!

Rules:
- A ultimate ironman can only use the bank to note/unnote items

It actually does absolutely nothing if you report someone this way. It only has a function if you're a staff member. There are people that believe this is the appropriate way to report someone. It might be time to change this text or make the button redirect to the helpdesk for non-staff.

It would be a nice feature if staff could assign ranks to the CC and allow certain trusted players to be able to kick from the Emps-World CC.
