Hunter Suggestion
Make the birds drop more feathers, at a minimum of 30 for the crimson swift bird.

In Depth:

To make hunter more appealing to level, I think small tweaks could be made to it.
This feather tweak is just one of them that would shoot it further into popularity.
I think that the birds should have feather drops scaling with the Hunter level required:

Reasoning:
Currently the Hunter birds drop around 4-10 feathers each (wiki is not accurate at this point.)
This is terrible considering that the bird traps have a chance of failing, and more time and effort is needed to farm them then say kill Chickens (which give 30 feathers minimum, require no set up or levels in a skill).
(Also, if they're in stock you can end up buying 2k feathers for 1gp each from the fishing store by hopping worlds)
You could also farm avansies for feathers, and other monsters.
Members only birds drop more due to the extra limitation.



Kill Log Suggestion
Soft Resetting of individual monsters

In Depth:
It's a simple suggestion, make it so that monsters have 2 logs, one that's total which can never be reset.
The other is one that can be reset to 0 at the users press of a button.
This would make it easier for people to track their current kill progress in X monsters killed videos, for example.
Or just easier for them to track other personal goals with murdering monsters.



Other Suggestion
Smaller suggestions

Farming:
Magic Trees grown by player have increased chance of crushed nests.
User Grown Trees will give 3 logs instead of 2 per dragon hatchet special use (not sure about this one).
This would give players more of a reason to use the magic seeds and farming in general.

Buffs & Debuffs Display:
Double EXP to show as a 'buff' alongside other buffs from potions. Displays the amount of time left.
When you are poisoned you do not have a debuff telling you, adding that would be nice too.

Suggestions & Ideas / Clan Functionality & Account Griefing / Sharing

So many of you have probably noticed what happened with the clan Noise.
To put it briefly, the owners trusted a user enough to give them access to the main clan account.
They done this so the user could do the following:

- Update the Clan Thread
- Kick / Ignore / Punish clan rule breakers on the main account.

However, the said user ended up griefing the clan using the account information given.
Griefing for those of you who don't know can be described as such:

Griefing is the act of irritating and angering people in video games through the use of destruction, construction, or social engineering.

In this case it would be the destruction of the clans thread and clans bank account, which contained many items.
We currently have no rules when it comes to cases of griefing in such a manner.
We do have rules which state no account sharing, and discourage those from sharing information for said reason.

However, when it comes to clan management at the moment there aren't much choices in the matter.

So I want to suggest some additions to the current rules:

Account Sharing
  • If you lose any items due to you sharing your account information, the staff of Emps-World are not eligible to return them to you, as you have voluntarily given out your information despite the risks.
  • Griefing of threads and accounts (by deliberately breaking rules on shared account) will result in punishment of the main account responsible.


This means that if someone shares their information, they adknowledge that if anything happens to their items that staff are not responsible, however if Griefing happens, the culprit will be given an infraction.

Honestly though, this would be a temporary measure, what really needs to happen is for clans to have more functionality.
Having clan ranks in game which dictate what the users can do, such as ban users from clan, mute from clan, etc...
Once these functions get added, there will be much less need to share accounts. Of course there would still be a need for thread editing however the owners could protect clan items via PIN or having a separate account for the bank.
Having the rules of griefing will discourage users from purposely destroying / giving away clan items and removing the threads.

In the end: Account sharing is against the rules and discouraged, however we should discourage them futher by adding in functionality to make it less necessary for account sharing in the first place, and also discourage users from griefing inside of shared accounts.

Cash Shop Item Suggestion - Gift Bomb

I thought of a nice little addition to the cash shop which I think players would enjoy.
This suggestion may need tweaking for economy reasons or some numbers etc but instead of shooting it down straight away, try to give ideas on how to improve this suggestion.
Now, lets get to the gift bomb:

Gift Bomb Information
  • Gift Bomb costs 500 DP each.
  • Untradeable. (not sure about this but meh)
  • Same icon as smoke bomb in RS.
  • When purchased/used, an event will happen: The bomber will receive a giftbox at random, and four others will also be given a giftbox at random. One of the five will also be guaranteed a DP item worth at least 575 DP.
  • Those randomly selected users will receive one of 5 types of presents randomly.
  • There will be a yell in chat (optional) to state that user X has just bombed said users.
  • Gift bombing can be anonymous.
  • Users can change their settings so they are anonymous if they ever get bombed.
  • The 5 types of presents vary in rarity, and hence what's inside of them.
  • The bomb itself can either be an item which can be triggered, or an automatic event trigger when it is purchased.
    • To clarify: The first option would be good if someone wanted to save up gift bombs and then use them all at once for a celebration of sorts

Present Information
  • 4 People at random plus the bomber will receive ONE of the 5 types of presents.
  • The type of present is random, some are much rarer than others.
  • Presents are not trade-able with other users, only use-able.
  • When used, the player will receive an item from its table at random.
  • Can not be dropped. If destroyed you can pay X amount of gold to get it back from Ilfeen
  • Presents icons are from RS based upon gems. The gems indicate the level of rarity.

These will come in a fair amount, not as much as for example wishing well fruits but about 1/3 of that. If not a lot less.
Can be ores, logs, seeds, grimy herbs, potion ingredients, arrows, bolts, arrowtips, bolt tips, uncuts, dragonhides, etc...

For the Diamond present, what I mean by cosmetics is such:
  • Unique - Only available through the diamond present. Could be gift themed / party themed.
  • Cash Shop - Random item from cash shop which is cosmetic, such as wings.
  • Kits - Those kits you can get out of the casket
  • Pets - Possibly pets that drop, or re-coloured versions of them.
  • All cosmetic items will have no combat stats.

For those that are going to whine about the rares in dragonstone:

- Someone buys the bomb and user X gets selected at random.
- User X has 0.01% chance of getting dragonstone, gets it.
- User randomly gets one of the 3 rares.

(You could also add more items to the dragonstone box to make it harder to get these.)
But the chance of someone being selected from the whole server AND getting that 0.01% chance makes this fine imo.

Why are you suggesting this?

People like giving gifts, and people like receiving them.
Some MMORPG's have adopted this method (adding a random gift event) into their cash shop and it has done very well, users love feeling appreciated for their gifts, and like making other people happy.
Not just that, but seeing users interact with each other (seeing the User X has just bombed Name, Name, Name, Name and Name!)
would be pretty cool.

It could help people make friends too, etc..
I just like the idea and thought I'd share it with you guys.
Things will probably need tweaking but the fact its a cash item + its randomly gifted to others and the buyer gets nothing + RNG makes this not too OP in my opinion.

Buuuut... feel free to share yours and I'll edit this as we go on.

Feedback / Bank Update Feedback

So I'm going to be giving feedback for this specific change right here:

When opening your bank, your tabs will be reset. That means, that opening the bank always opens the default tab, which contains all items.
This is a change some may enjoy, but it has been irritating me beyond belief.
I believe that it should be an option to have this happen.
In most cases, having the tab you opened previously stay the active tab would be beneficial.
This is due to people organizing tabs and having different materials in each tab.

So when it comes to things like herblore (potion making, herb cleaning) and other skills like fletching you know where everything will be when the bank comes back up, so this is less clicking and moving of the mouse.
Less repetitive boring time consuming movement.

However, with this update, you have a lot of un-needed movement just to do something that was 3x easier before this change.
Now, I know people are going to say "pft you're being petty", and try to shoot down my feedback (I see suggestions get shot down far too much in this forum, lol) so I'll say this:

This new change goes fundamently against Fitts' Law which is a law commonly used in design (web design, GUI design, etc...) and is quite important despite it seeming not so important.
(I suggest if you're into design you go and look up Fitts' Law more in depth, it's pretty good information to have.)

My suggestion with this feedback:

Make this an option.
Give people the choice if they want the front tab to always be opened or for it to remember the previous active tab.

Simple fix, gives users of both sides the option to choose which one is more accessible/usable to them.

Misplaced Blocks
Near the workers in the kalphite hive one of the walls seems to push outward while in VBO mode.
Using OpenGL version.

::reloadmap did not fix the issue, going to restart client and update.
Closing the client and re-opening DID fix the issue UNTIL I toggled VBO off and on again.

Blue Glitch
And the main reason I stopped using VBO -- the blue glitch.
I think this mainly occurs when there's a lot of drops in the near vicinity.

This also MIGHT be caused when another bug with VBO occurs:

Sometimes items will appear dropped twice.
Usually in adjacent blocks / diagonal blocks of each other.
Of course there's only one item but it appears twice.
As you see in the GIF above, there's 2 seeds (one below the potion too)
Once I picked the seeds up, the glitching stopped.

Gathering information on this new random event for Emps-World.
At the moment I've come across it while cutting gems / crafting, I need more info though.
It might spawn in other ways too, and I only have 1 drop known and even then not the quantities.
Any help would be appreciated!

Suggestions & Ideas / Brawling Gloves Buff Suggestion

This was a thread to at first suggest a buff to the cooking brawlers gloves.
However, when thinking about it, all brawlers gloves aren't very good.
The main reason why is - they're temporary, require participating in a mini-game where people are rarely in and 50% exp increase for some things just isn't that good for just 750 uses.
So, I've made a little table which shows the suggestions.

Of course, these items buffs might be quite strong however they should be, to give players more motivation to play mini games such as Castle Wars, I keep hearing from players they don't like CTF as much as the last CW (I haven't played the last) -- plus, since these gloves are temporary, require special currency only obtained through a mini-game not played very much I think they should be stronger.

Introductions & Farewells / Hey Guys! Kind of new.

Hey all! I'm Hazer. I've been on here for a week now but never bothered to make an intro until now.
I've been enjoying my time here, as the economy is really nice and the Wiki is insanely helpful.
Already made a few friends, which is nice. :D

My name is Harry but online I prefer to be called Hazer, it's just less creepy to be called by IGN in my opinion.
I only speak English, since I'm a scrub and never bothered to learn another language.
Though, not out of ignorance but purely because I have no reason too (never traveled).

I have a few hobbies, my main ones are Sleeping, Website Design and Development and Playing games.
Occasionally I doodle and draw but that's very rarely.
At the moment I'm on a Runescape spree and this server is my fix. xD
I found the server through searching google for osrs private servers, since the main OSRS paywall was annoying me.
(I'm poor x_x)

So far I'm really enjoying the server, everything from the economy to the people.
Of course, there are a lot of jackasses but there are a lot of nice, friendly people too.
I haven't really been focusing on a specific skill so at the moment my skills are all over the place.

At the moment I'm leveling cooking, then I'll probably be on a grind to get lots of snape and mantas.
I need to save up money and trade for a membership ring as my free membership has pretty much run out now.
I've got to say, the thing this server has on nearly every single other is a very accurate, helpful and in-depth wiki.
So thank you to those who maintain it, as without it I probably wouldn't have stayed for long.
It documents what's different from other servers / the main game, what benefits members have and other information.

The guides on skilling and money making made from users in the forum and wiki are extremely helpful too.
The price list which lists prices for common items as well as rares is a god sent.
So yes, thank you again to those Wiki maintainers, this is one of the best things about this server.
(that and the economy and the many ways that you can earn money).

So yes, nice to meet you all.
I live in the UK so I'll be on a UK time zone (most of the time, this server has been destroying my sleep cycle).
