I don't know if any of you have noticed but I've been pretty inactive lately. My military training started last Monday and I'll be stuck here for at least five and half a month, until 16th of July. There is also a slight possibility for one year of service as well, depending on how well the basic training goes.
If any of you are interested, the training has been really basic so far. A bit of marching and practice with an assault rifle. Discipline has been getting stricter everyday but I haven't found it too hard adapting into. Early mornings haven't been a problem either since I had morning shifts at work for like 8 months lol
We'll have holidays on most of the weekends but next week we're stuck here doing some physical exercise and weapon practice and some random lessons.
Pop your champagne bottles and start the party, I'm no longer insulting every pleb I see here.

A quick update 18/3:

Service length confirmed to be a bit over 5 months. I'm actually starting to enjoy this a bit, the people in my group are great and handling a howitzer (122H63 <- click for pic) is pretty damn fun. We haven't shot with one yet though, but that will change in April and May with 5 weeks of artillery camps. I don't remember the exact number of shots, but it was around 200-300. I'm really looking forward for it since the snow is finally melting and the weather is getting a bit warmer. Last time we had a camp we had a thick layer of ice, which of course melted overnight, below our tent and we were pretty much swimming in the damn water in the morning LOL. Believe me it was cold as hell.

Currently I'm on a vacation for 10 days and I'm going back on March 28th

I'd prefer 5 months myself as I have a spot reserved at an university and most likely a place to work in June and August too. I'd rather move on with my life as quickly as possible instead of being stuck here for a full year.
