Yew shortbows require a Range level of 40 to wield. You can obtain Yew shortbows with the Fletching skill, this requires Yew logs and Bowstrings. You can also buy them from Lowe in Varrock and Catherby for 956 coins.

Making a Yew shortbow requires a Fletching level of 65, and will grant you 1171 Fletching experience in total. You can use up to Rune arrows with the Yew shortbow.
