Uncuts can be obtained in several ways: dropped by certain monsters, mined from the shooting star distraction, by stealing from a gem stall, bought from the Shilo village store, by opening caskets or by mining gem rocks (up to dragonstone only, no opals, red topaz or jade).

An uncut gem requires a certain crafting level and a chisel to be cut. All gems can be cut twice. First giving a clean version of the gem which can be used to craft jewellery. Then, cut again to be turned into 45 bolt tips of the specific gem.
