Regarding your suggestion to change the background, I don't support it. I loved the new background when I first saw it; albeit, mine doesn't work anymore. (It looks like yours: just grey.) They can fix this later on when they have time, I'm sure, but for now they have more pressing matters. That being said, presentation is important, so I would hope that they look into fixing this relatively soon, for it would help keep and attract more players (a small number, but each player counts).
As for removing free membership and double exp, I don't support it. Even though I, as a player, never liked the double exp, other players did like it - a lot. Double exp weekends increase our player count on the weekends by a large amount; this makes it invaluable to the game. We should not get rid of double exp weekends. As far as free membership goes, I believe that it's only temporary. (We may have free membership weekends, though; I'm not sure.) Having free membership right now is important for helping players get back into the game. After all, we lost our banks; there's no need to kick players when they're down.
