Was highlighting valuable drops(rare or very rare) suggested before? Like, you kill any monster or npc and you receive highlighted drop. For example, Dagganoth Prime - [Player_Name] received Seers Scroll. or something like it. For Bossing events it would look neat although it's not necessary could be cool to have small QoL update. Any feedback might make it more detailed. Myself, I do not have ideas how to put it simple.

It's a global yell notifying people of someone's rare drop.

I would like it, however many others might not, since it can get annoying quite fast. If it has a disable toggle, I'm all for it.

Was quite sure that notifying others of drops was part of lootshare in rs, could be wrong.

Does something implemented with another system automatically limit it to just that one thing?
Rare drop notifications work great as a stand-alone feature as well.

Announcing it to the server is no where near the same as lootshare.
Lootshare would only display the drops and give them to other players, just so that you could see if someone that you were lootsharing with got something that was worth a split or not, so they cant say oh I only got a chili potato, when they really got bandos tassets or something.

As Magecrune stated it would work in same manner with toggling on/off but won't be lootshare and will be visible to players nearby that Boss/Monster. Lootshare works in clan chats to show what people got in clan chat. I thought it could work as additional in game text feature.

So I could say Magecrune got it right. That's what I'm suggesting.

And color would differ, depending on how rare the item is.
