For the miners of gem rocks this could be a nice addition, since those ice trolls hit quite much if you go there with only decorative armour.

I'm not too aware of the damage dealt by these trolls but would this make collecting gems a lot faster if there was a healer nearby? I mean, it would take more time to just eat food or bring food along but having a healer there may make it a bit too fast for my liking.

They hit on me, max cb and without any gear buy d pick, 15-16 pretty common.
Its not only for the gem miners, but also for the people who have frost dragon tasks.

15-16's are quite hard hits to be fair. You have a valid point, nonetheless. However, would people not just take advantage of this healer and bring too many gems in-game? Thus, the price of gems dropping.
