Uhm... that looks fine to me? Switching your weapon has probably cancelled following for a split second.

That problem also results out of how movement is calculated. I'm sorry, but this cannot be fixed without re-thinking the entire movement system, which isn't going to happen any time soon. Besides, the following system allows you to walk a little faster when these flaws happen. You'll definitely get back to your enemy without losing too much, if even anything at all.
