Game settings = DC
« on: November 13, 2015, 04:47:40 am »
Today, 11/12/2015, I had to re-download the client and it's maps and stuff for some reason even though I had it already downloaded a few days ago.  Many others had their clients downloaded again also assuming it was some big update.  Now for some reason each time I click on tools > game settings I lag a lot and the client stops responding.  I would have to close it and open a new client to play again.  Although when my client was re-downloading, I was able to use this settings and change VBO mode and stuff, but now I can't.

Can you try uninstalling the game? https://emps-world.net/uninstall
Very often that fixes most problems. Let me know if it has worked for you.

I did this too but it didn't work.  I'll try it again though.

Thank you. If that doesn't work, can you type ::openglinfo and show me the output? Also, are you using the software or hardware renderer?

EDIT: I've just found a way to reproduce the problem and was able to fix it. Can you restart your client and let me know if it's fixed for you too now?

If you still want the output I got from ::openglinfo here it is:

I have been switching from software to hardware to see if it would solve the problem, so I'm not sure which to say, but I am currently using hardware renderer.

I'm glad you found the problem!  I have restarted the client and everything seems to be working well!  If anything else comes up, I'll let you know.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, glad that we found the issue. Locking this topic now. Please always use the hardware renderer! :)
