permanent residence
« on: January 15, 2018, 02:05:00 pm »
My cousin is from Yemen, due to the current war we flew him to Eygpt and from there he is going to Malaysia. However, the countries he is visiting aren't what his looking for, in other words, he can't find a job at the same time the most of the residents are poor and with no jobs.

The bottom line is he wants to enter Europ, all I'm asking for is advice and information.

I'm sure that ill get the information that I need from you guys more than Google or Reddit. He is 21 years old, he is good at Automotive and Electrician.

Thanks in advance,

P.S. You're my brothers living in (Netherlands, Canada, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, Finland, Belgium, Denmark, & Sweden).  ;)

This is a very wrong place to ask for such advice, If your cousin really wants a real advice then let him create a post on /r/personalfinances.

I'm pretty sure Canada is still inviting people in and offering them gibs to try to sweeten the deal of moving there.
You can get gibs in Urop but I can't think of any EU "country" where people would like anyone "fleeing war", so it would be a hostile environment.
Besides I've heard nothing but good about Canada from immigrants.

Could you possibly name his personality traits? This is also huge factor in choosing countries cause something as adapting to its culture can be quite challenge.

In any case, I won't suggest choosing Lithuania for any solid reason as politics(namely, thieves) are burning it into ground already fine enough. Here he could make career but unless he has traits of Lithuanian dude who usually in automotive field is very selfish etc. wishes a lot of money for small fixes in vehicles.

That's one Europe country I would sign off my list if I was him. Right now, it's not best time to come here since Baltic countries themselves are in a kinda possible-warzone. From my friends recommendations: Denmark, Norway, perhaps even Netherlands are best choices if you were to take Europe in count as well as UK.

Can't say bad things about Canada myself - seems peaceful country to me.

What else I forgot to mention... correct me if I'm wrong about other countries(besides Lithuania) though.

A person who left his country because of a civil war going on there, I am sure any safe country on the planet should be just fine for him.
Its not like na I won't go to lithuania I rather go to Germany, both countries are supposed to be safe ( at least for now )
so he should take any opportunity to leave to ANY Europe country.

Yemen is a hot place ( at least from what I know ) therefore the change of the temp might be a bit problem for him I guess
therefore Egypt or Jordan might be a good places to be if he can, maybe Lebanon as its safe as well

@Ameer any Europe country is fine for him, the question is which country won't reject his visa. If he got rejected once then almost all other Europian counties will do too, so which country will give him the visa 80-100%?

@Tulrak Canada is the best place to go, but its kinda hard atm.

France's President just gave a whole speech about how they should accept people from countries in war, so you might want to look into that.

Just for future reference, it depends on which part of Yemen you are talking about. The southern part is boiling hot/cool depending on the time of the year. The northern part is cool/freezing cold (It snows during the winter there).
The person Saif is talking about lives in the northern part of Yemen.
