Ranging spectrals still possible?

Used to be able to do it year ago or so recently tried but they follow me around the trees until melee, still possible or not? Thanks

That's no longer possible, sorry! :) Some monsters have received better AI and can follow you around any object.

That's not possible as Thomy said, but you can barrage them (freeze them), which make them easy to kill.
