Problem with game quality
« on: May 03, 2020, 08:34:20 am »
Why is the game so low quality? Looks like as in text isn't properly filled in (chat) and everything just looks so hazy. Tried all graphics setting and everything, feels like the resolution is all out of place, but can't change that anywhere.

Can you show me your ::openglinfo? Your computer may not be able to run the latest graphics. You can enable anti-aliasing or change the UI scale option for better visuals.

I'm pretty sure the computer isn't a problem :D (RTX 2070, i5 9600k, 16gb ram)

With higher UI the chat looks slightly better, but the stats and equipment still look all out of place + with higher UI the chat and intercace are way too big.

It didn't use to be like that, dno what have you changed, the game just doesn't look crisp.

Thanks!

If you've got an UHD or 4K monitor you could also check if Windows does DPI scaling for java.exe or Emps-World.exe. It's better if the game itself does the scaling to avoid those blurry scenarios. Did you enable anti aliasing?

There hasn't been a game client update for scaling or image rendering in weeks, so I do not think that this is the problem.

I was thinking also that my UHD monitor might be the case. Could you give me an example how the DPI scaling should be set? Since I tried all variations between java and emps-world exe, but nothing seems to change.

Anti aliasing has been enabled all the time.

I haven't played for like 2 years, something might have changed during then, because I for sure wouldn't have played with those graphics :D

Okay. Application level scaling should be the option to look for. I have a 4K monitor and it's fine. Maybe find an UI scaling option that suits you best and combine it with or without anti-aliasing. Whatever you find to look best. :)
