[PvM] Tips on gears, consumables and other
« on: April 08, 2016, 06:45:46 pm »

The purpose of this guide is to give some information on how to use your food, potions, prayers, spells, teleports, armour and weapons to give your best at "Player versus Monster" combat. Surviving while bossing may save you millions of gp, if not your best gear, and also help to build your bank.
There are still a lot of people who do attempt to kill monsters with experimental gears as they don't know how to do it at the best for certain monsters, so this guide will try to give some basic guide lines about this.

REMEMBER: This is only for PvM and these tips may not fit at all with PvP so please use this at your own risk.

1.0 - Equipment
Equipment is one of the most important things in PvM. It's your primary source of defense, can prolong your prayer points and give you a better chance to hit higher. Choosing the right gear is vital to do bossing correctly(may be also applied to Slayer), and incorrect setups will get you killed within seconds at many bosses. These gears are also great for when you're training combat to be able to PvM better. There are also different types of gears which can provide advantages over other types, and I'll try to explain these advantages and disadvantages.

  • Low Budget - So as first let's talk about low budget equipment, as at the begining no one is rich they start from most economic armour. As people usually start thinking about profit after reaching level 60-65 of their combat skills I will start with gears that fit those levels. These gear set-ups wont go over 5-7M.
    • Melee
Basic dragon armour set is one of the cheapiest gears you can find on the market to successfully start PvM, it's also used a lot for just training melee combat skills. (The price of these three elements is roughly about 700-800K).
Fighter Torso and Helm of Neitiznot are very used items for basic(but not only) melee gear setups, they have some nice offensive bonuses.
Barrows sets are degradeable items and every piece has 5000 hits before it breaks completely. They can be really effective
while training or even killing some higher level monsters, they aren't use a lot but they have some particular effects in combat
that may give some advantages(hitting through prayer, heal your hitpoints, hitting higher, giving you a better defence). Many may say it's not worth using these sets but they're pretty cool. (The effects of Barrow armour sets manifest when you're wearing the full armour set including helm, top, bottom and weapon.)
When it comes to the weapon selection you will never do a mistake if you take one of these. They have probably the most well-rounded special attacks ingame. Definitely good dps, can be poisoned as well. Dragon halberd offers a lot of damage for a special attack weapon to large monsters, it does a while double hit to them. It also has an extra square of range, this could be useful to 'safespot' with melee.(These don't cost a lot, you can get them with 150K easily).
A cheap alternative of a whip I'd say, you can combine this and one of the weapons mentioned above, the combination can be very effective!
Depending on what type of weapon you're using you want to chose the right shield(if you have a two-handed weapon you can't use a shield obviously). Anti-dragon shield should be used only when you have to fight dragons, otherwise it has no useful bonus for you. The best one can pick from these three is Toktz-ket-xil, also known as Obsidian Shield, it has some nice bonus.(These are also pretty cheap 100K-like, anti-dragon shield can be bough in Falador's shields shop).
It depends on your budget, but you should take dragon one's they have better bonus obviously.(The boots aren't really expensive, Dragon one's go up to 700K).
Both of these capes are good, but if you have 99 strength, attack or defence you should definitely go for these. (These capes are really cheap, Obsidian cape goes from 50k to 80k, and Skillcapes are about 150K).
Combination capes are even better than Skillcapes, they require two skill at level 99 to be weared. (They cost around 450k).
It's up to you which one to take, if you want better accuracy Warrior one is better, if you want strength bonuses go for Berserker one.(These rings may cost you up to 400-500k).
] For better strength bonus you should take Strength amulet, Amulet of glory will provide you better defence bonus.(These amulets are around 50k).
    • Magic
A particularity about most magic robes is that they include boots, gloves, robeskirts, robetops and hats, complete sets! Mystic robes are good for basic magic training, and are affordable to pretty much anyone.
This set is one of the better magic sets, and is used also for people with a medium budget to dedicate for a gear. I suggest you using this one.(The entire set may come to cost about 2-3M, but it's definetily worth getting one.)
An another Barrow set, this is pretty used and it has some nice effects over your spells. If you wear the full set, any additional spell effects will be 25% more effective, with the exception of teleblock. This means things like binds and degenerating effects will be 25% longer or stronger.
Use of books might give you some useful bonus. Books take shield dedicated slot in the equipment interface, so pay attention when you're killing monster such as dragons.
Seer's ring's bonus are definitely to exploit if you haven't access to something better.(Same as other rings of this type it costs around 400k).
Staves are used to autocast certain spells and preserve some runes. Althought not all staves preserve specific runes, while staves of certain elements(air, earth, fire and water) do preserve specific runes for each staff, Master wand has a chance of 36% to preserve runes on cast.
    • Ranged
There are lower level ranged armours that work really good but as I said before I suggest armour for combat skills with a level of atleast 60-65.(These three pieces won't make you spend more than 150K).
These are for people who have a level of ranging atleast 70(and 40 Defence). Black d'hide armour are way better than red, so if possible use these.(This set may cost you up to 200k).
This is a pretty decent ranging setup which uses Barrow's armour set. Karil's set is particular because of it's crossbow, unlike other crossbows, it's 2-handed and is as fast as a shortbow. It also requires particular ammo, which is bolt racks.
I really suggest you using crossbows as they are one-handed ranged weapons and give you the advantage of wearing a shield, which sometimes may save you from death.(These are quite cheap, 500K is the maximum price that you could pay for Blurite one).
Bolts are definitely more expensive but don't forget about the advantages that using a crossbow gives you. It works mostly the same as for arrows, so it's up to you which ones take for training and which ones for looting.
Emerald bolts (e) have a 20% chance on hit to poison your target with 10 damage for each turn.
Ruby bolts (e) have a 20% chance on hit to inflict additional damage based on the max health of your target, at the cost of 5% max health of yours. It will not trigger if you are below 10% of your health. The additional damage is 10% of the enemy max health, with a maximum of 30 extra damage, on top of your hit. This makes them particularily effective against NPCs with about 300 health, since you will not be able to trigger extra damage for monsters with more than 300 health.
Diamond bolts (e) have a 20% chance on hit to reduce your target's defence with 5 levels.
You should also consider this one, this bow is known for it's particularity which is that this bow does not consume arrows. It may be used for training aswell as for slayer tasks or basic looting. A disadvantage about this bow is that it degrades, but it may come cheaper to repair one of these than buying a certain amount of arrows.(This bow is roughly 900K, but it's worth to get one).
If you decided to use two-handed bow you should definitely go for this one, it's know for it's special attack which hit's twice.(It's a cheap item, you will spend 50k for it).
When it comes to arrows it really depends on you, if you're simply training you can use Mithril or Adamant ones, if you have to kill a monster to make some profit you should go for higher and sure hits so Rune arrows are better.
Ranger set, I'd say, is a must as ranging armour sets don't have any hats/helmets and boots.(This set may cost you around 300-400K).
Archer's ring is a good ring to use if you want some extra ranging bonus, don't forget about that!

You may have noticed that I didn't mention any amulet for Magic and Ranged. For both you can use the Amulet of glory, which I also mentioned in melee section.
Barrows gloves are really good, they provide very good stats for melee, Range and Magic for both attack, defence and strength bonus. They are considered to be one of the best Gloves for all types of combat.

Re: [PvM] Tips on gears, consumables and other
« Reply #1 on: April 08, 2016, 06:46:21 pm »
  • Medium Budget - The equipment mentioned under this title may request higher levels but it also means higher hit ands better protection. Gears I'm going to talk can cost you up to 20-25M.
    • Melee
Void is really used and good for PvM, it has two versions 'normal' one and 'elite'. With full void set equipped you will gain +15% or 30% accuracy bonus and +9% strength bonus, depending on if you have a normal void set or an elite void set equipped.
The best one-handed weapons currently in the game. They're high speed weapons and also have good dps. I'd suggest to always use these with a shield. (They're also pretty cheap and Donator shop whips can be used with 1 attack level, which is really good for anyone who's training.)
Saradomin sword will roughly match the dps of whip and arcane, and may also be better than those. Really worth using.
Always use it on dragon tasks as it will protect you from dragonfire attacks and thus most of the dragon's damage. If you don't use it you'll be burnt to a crisp. You should use this shield with both melee, range and magic. It has also a special attack, which requires 5 dragon breaths to recharge, and can hit pretty high. (It's price ranges around 2-3M).
Dragon defender is a good choice when you're not fighting dragons as it gives some nice melee bonus.
    • Magic
A difference between this and other 3rd Age armour sets is that this one cost less than others. This is currently one of the best offensive magic armour in Emps-World.
Same as melee, void magic set can be used in 'normal' and 'elite' version. The top and robe are the same for all the combat types.
Elemental staff is pretty useful as it supplies you with an infinite amount of air, water, earth and fire runes when equipped. It can be upgraded into 4 elemental variants by using an elemental crystal on the staff, it will increase your magic accuracy but it will also make the staff become degradeable.
    • Ranged
Don't need to say that void ranging set can be used in 'normal' and 'elite' version. The top and robe are the same for all the combat types. It has same benefits as other on the ranging combat style.
This is the strongest crossbow in the game, so I think there's no need to say why to use this. If combined with some good bolts it can hit really high.
Probably the best bolts in the game. These bolts have a 20% chance on hit to hit an additional 10 to 20 damage, and heal your character for 20% of the total damage dealt.
Dragon bolts(e) have a 20% chance on hit to inflict an additional dragonbreath attack, that is able to deal between 10 and 25 additional damage on top of your hit. The effect does not proc if your target is wearing a Dragonfire shield, if your target is a dragon or a fire-based creature.
If paired with Hunter crossbow, Kebbit bolts are quite strong, I think they're worth using too.
Seercull has a pretty nice special attack, which lowers your opponent's combat stats by up to 15 percent. This is a really good bow, but it's kinda underrated in my opinion.
Dark bow is the slowest bow in whole Emps-world, but it fires two arrows at once, and has a strong special attack.
Saradomin and Zamorak bows are two of the best bows in game, they give their best if used with their respective arrows.
Dragon arrows are second strongest arrows in the game and can be used by high level bows. I wouldn't use these for training, it would come to cost too much, so I suggest to use them while killing something that can give you some nice profit.
These arrows can be used o with their respective godbows.

I didn't include these in any type of gear setup because Amulet of fury and Ring of stone can be used with any of type of gear setup, they provide great overall bonus and only very few amulets/rings can provide better stats.

  • High Budget - If you can spend for your gear as much as you want this section is for you, just be sure to meet the requirements. I will not add commonly called "PvP gear" items such as Statius's, Vesta's, etc.
    • Melee
3rd Age Melee set is currently one of the best defensive armour in Emps-World, so it's really worth using.
Bandos is the best armour to use for PvM, it provides great offensive bonuses.
Amulet of strength (t) provides the best strength bonus in game for the amulet slot.
These are the best boots you could use for a melee gear setup!
If you're not fighting dragons this is definetely the best shield you could ever wear. As any other spirit shield, Arcane spiriy shield can be operated to use the following special ability: the next damaging hit will inflict a counter hit of 20% of the taken damage. It also has a secondary passive effect that rebounds a small amount of damage on every hit you take. Both of these effects stack with the Ring of recoil.
Probably one of the best weapons in whole game, you can reach around 70 of maximum damage in one hit with Zamorakian spear. Keep in mind that it will hit harder on larger monsters.
Godswords can be very effective weapons while PvM'ing, every one of these have a different special attack that has different effects, chose wisely which to use to get the maximum benefit from it.
    • Magic
Really good robes for magic, have great magic strength bonus.
The Rod of Ivandis is a special staff that uses up charges to cast powerful magic strikes which do not require any runes. It works pretty much the same as the Crystal bow. It has 6000 casts and costs 2M to recharge, I wouldn't be using this for training but for killing a monster that has some good drops.
Staff of light unlike the other staves does not conserve a specific kind of rune, but it has a chance of 35% to preserve runes on cast. It can autocast from both normal and ancient spell books. It is also the only staff that has a special attack.
Best magic bonus are in this amulet, Amulet of magic (t).
Ragefire boots are currently the best magic boots ingame.
What about the best shield for magic? It's special effect is that the next damaging hit will inflict a counter hit of 20% of the taken damage. It also has a secondary passive effect that rebounds a small amount of damage on every hit you take. Both of these effects stack with the Ring of recoil. Be sure to not fight any dragons while wearing this one.
    • Ranged
3rd Age Ranged armour set is really good for it's defensive bonuses, I suggest you pretty much to use it if you can.
Armadyl armour set has the best ranging strength bonus, using it may really make the difference. This set also includes gloves and boots.
Amulet of ranging has the best offensive ranging bonus in game, worth using it.
Glaiven boots are the best boots for ranging in game. If you want to get maximum ranged bonus don't forget them!
Divine spirit shield can be operated, giving the wielder a charge of retaliation. The next damaging hit will inflict a counter hit of 20% of the taken damage. It also has a secondary passive effect that rebounds a small amount of damage on every hit you take. Both of these effects stack with the Ring of recoil.

I havent mentioned these two in any of the combat type section because they there are good for any of these overall. Also Spectral spirit shield has a particularity which is that the wearer's maximum Hitpoints level is increased by +11, this effect stacks with the hp boosting effect from saradomin and zamorak brews.

I haven't mentioned these aswell in any of the budget's list, these are kinda optional items but they are strongly recommended for every budget setup. These give their best if used with Melee, Magic and Range, respectivetely.
This is the best cape in-game, it requires all skills to be at level 99. It has also Ava's accumulator's effect.

  • Non-tradeable items - Even if these items are impossible to trade they can be really helpful in PvM. They can cost you a lot or take a lot of time to as well as they cannot. Please consider these while setting up a gear.
    • - Actually the best ring in-game, it has the same stats as the Ring of stone has, but an extra of this ring is that it takes 10% less special attack energy while wearing.
    • - This helm is mostly used for slayer, so if you're slaying use it. It gives a +10% strength and accuracy against your current task, this bonus works with every combat style. It will also give you 10% bonus slayer exp. It's one of the best items for slayer and is quite easy to obtain. It also provides protection from the smoke in the smoke dungeon.
    • - This is a better version of above mentione slayer helmet, it grants 15% accuracy and damage bonus against their assigned slayer monster, as well as granting 15% more Slayer experience while worn. Full slayer helmet will also protect the wearer from smoke in the smoke dungeon.
    • - Always use this against undead monsters, it gives a 20% accuracy and damage bonus against them. Imagine wearing 2 slayer helmets at once but it only taking up the amulet slot. It provides no other stats though, so don't use it if your task isn't undead.
    • - Anger axe & mace can do a nice amount of damage against larger monsters (monsters that are bigger than 1 square) and are worth using against them. However if the monster isn't larger than 1 square, don't bother using these.
    • - These are whips that have been upgraded with the crystals. They have increased accuracy to +100 and their strength to +91 with a requirement of level 80 Attack. The upgrade process is irreversible and upgraded elemental whips cannot be alched and cannot be dropped. They degrade back into the original abyssal whip or the crystal after 5000 attacks in combat.

In order to have the best gear you can actually afford you can combine any of these elements as you like, just use them properly. Make them price-friendly as much as possible, and also give the priority to the main equipment such as amour or weapons, the accessories can come after the selection of those as they aren't the main source of offensive/defensive stats.

« Reply #2 on: April 08, 2016, 06:46:35 pm »
2.0 - Consumables
Consumables are the main source of healing or boosting you stats that you have while in combat. So you should stock up a nice amout of these in order to do your PvM without interruptions. You should mainly pay attention prayer potions and food, however if you wanna kill monsters faster I do recommend you stuck up on super potions and brews as well.
I saw people filling their inventories full of food and put their hopes only on that, so I will briefly explain some food/potion effects that might be handy while fighting monsters.

Food
  • - Shark is the most economical food I'd suggest you to use for PvM, they heal you 20 hitpoints.
  • - Sea turtles are okay to use as food, but not the best. Let your budget decide. It heals you by 21 hitpoints.
  • - Manta rays are the go-to food for anyone wanting to kill high level monsters. They can cost you a bit if bought in large amounts but it's the best food you can have. Manta rays heal your healt by 23 hitpoints.

Potions
  • - Prayer potions, same as food, are a must in your bank, they restore 25% of your prayer points plus 7.
  • - Even better than prayer potions, Super restore potions restore your combat stats(except Hitpoints) back to normal by 25% plus 8.
  • - To perform better in your PvM or bossing you can use these potions and the ones that follow below, depending on your combat type. Super attack potion will temporarily increase your attack level by 15% plus 5. This boost will gradually wear out until your stat is back to the original level.
  • - Super strength potion will do pretty much the same thing as Super attack one does, it will temporarily increase your strength level by 15% plus 5. This boost will gradually wear out until your stat is back to the original level.
  • - I don't need to say what it does, it has the same effects as the two potions above but it effects your defence level instead.
  • - This is a combination of three potions above mentioned, it will increase you attack, strentgh and defence level by 15% plus 5 all at once. These boosts to your stats will also gradually wear out. These are actually really useful as they can save a lot of your inventory space and can make your trips way longer!
  • - Not only melee combat styles can have their stats increased so we have a Super magic potion too, it has the same effects as any type melee potion have but it applies to your magic level.
  • - Boosts your ranging level by 15% plus 5, wears out with time until the stat comes back to it's original level.
  • - Saradomin brew will heal an amount of your health depending on your Hitpoints level. If your Hitpoints level is 99 you will be healed by 16. It will also increase your maximum Defence and Hitpoints Level, up to 123 and 115 respectively. This potion have also a negative downside, it will decrease your Attack, strength, Ranged and Magic levels by 5%. These buffs and debuffs will gradually wear out.
  • - This potion works exactly the same way as Saradomin Brew but it will boost your Strength level instead of defence. It iwll also debuff Attack, Defence, Ranged and Magic levels.
  • - When drinking an Antifire potion you will be protected from the dragonfire attacks from dragons and the special effect of dragon bolts (e). The effect of this potion will stack with the shields. This potion can be really useful while fighting stronger dragons or when using a two-handed weapon.

- Guardian Angel is an another consumable which is worth a mention. It's special effect will be protecting user's items once from Death, or will revive user's character. It will regenerate the user with full health at the same spot he died. The user will be immune for attacks for 10 seconds.

You may have noticed that some potions give you better advantages than others, it's up to you what to choose but if you're wealthy enough to afford them then do it, it's really worth doing.
You don't always have to keep the disadvantages of some potions, so here you are few 'workarounds'.
Many people prefer using Super restore potions instead of Prayer potions as they restore more prayer points and also you debuffed stats(except Hitpoints). Super restore potions come handy also when using brews as they restore stats that brews debuff.
Super Melee potions save you a lot of inventory space, they're really useful for this, you have some extra slots for food, potions or even equipment. Make good use of them.
Brews are an alternative option to heal your Hitpoints but be sure to not mistake which one you're using for your combat style. Saradomin brews are better while using Magic and Ranged combat types, Zamorak instead for Melee users.

3.0 - Prayers

Prayers are very important if you want consider seriously PvM. They provide excellent way to protect you from damage, boosting your stats and other cool advantages. I will only mention prayers that are useful in PvM which may be completely different from PvP, anyways here we go.

  • - Protect item is really useful prayer and can even save you some money. It protects 1 extra item on your death if you die with it activated. Be sure to not forget to activate it if you're risking some items that you don't want to lose. This prayer only needs a level 25 of Prayer.
  • - Protect from Magic is really useful while fighting certain monsters like Tormented demons, that use more than one combat style, or monsters that use only magical attacks. This prayer reduces accuracy and maxhit of magical attacks you receive by 50%.
  • - Protect from Range does the same thing as Protect from Magic prayer does, but it effects ranged attacks you receive.
  • - While training prayer, I think that, Protect from Melee prayer is the only that people can't wait to be able to use as it is the most used prayer for most of monsters you fight. It has the same effects of the two protection prayers mentioned above. It does it's effect on melee attacks that you receive.
  • - Chivarly is the little brother of Piety, that I'll mention below, if you don't have required level of prayer to use Piety use these. These will boost your Defence by 20%, your accuracy by 18% and strength by 15% of the combat you're using(Melee, Ranged and Magic respectivily), just be sure to activate the right Chivarly prayer according to the combat type you're using.
  • - While using Piety prayers you will notice that the boosts is way greater than Chivarly's boosts are. Use them the same way you use Chivarly in order to obtain the right effects. You will notice your Defence boosted up by 25%, accuracy by 23% and strentgh by 20% for the combat type you're using.

These are the most used prayers in PvM but you may find useful also others. Prayer skill is really worth training I'd say!

4.0 - Spells and Teleports

Spells can give you nice advantages whatever combat type you're using, you can combine spells to melee or ranged combat type to hybrid at the best against certain monsters(even if hybriding isn't really used in PvM).
Teleporting in time can save you from difficult combat situations, bring to monster spots that you can't reach on foot and also take safely your loots to bank. There are also items, like amulets and rings, that can teleport you to monster locations, and not only, but I won't cover those in this guide.
I will talk about most common spells used in combat in order to obtain some nice advantages, but I wont go too much inside Magic skill nor talk about spells to use for magic-only combat type.

  • - Low and High alchemy are used a lot in PvM, these spells can save your inventory space and save time trying to sell items you loot. It will convert your items into coins.
  • - These are nice spells to use on certain monsters and sometimes can make differnce. They have effects like reducing your opponent's accuracy, strength or defence, binding and stuning your oponent. They're not always used but as I said can give a slight advantage.
  • - Teleports can take you to different locations in a matter of seconds. Teleports that you'll find in different spellbooks will requires runes to be used, and can't be casted while in combat.
  • - Teleport tablets have same effects as as teleportation spells do. Using a teleportaion tablet you wont receive any magic experience, it wont require you any runes and you will be able to teleport away even during the combat(as long as you're not above Wilderness level 20.)

Above spells and teleports are from Normal spellbook(except the Teleportat tabs), Ancient spellbook contains only spells that should be used for a constant magic combat, and has pretty much same teleportation spells as Normal and Lunar spellbooks do. Lunar spellbook does contain spells that can be really useful for solo and also team PvM/bossing.

  • - Monster examine gives you information about the monster's combat level, hitpoint level, and maximum hit.
  • - Cures you of poison as though you have taken an Anti-poison potion.
  • - Cures everyone of poison in a 3x3 square and yourself.
  • - Stat restore pot share is a support spell. When you activate this spell and drink any restoration potion afterwards, everyone in a 3x3 square will gain the same effect
  • - Boost potion share is also a support spell, when you activate this spell and drink any boosting potion afterwards, everyone in a 3x3 square will gain the same effect
  • - Transfer a maximum of 10 points of your hp and your running energy to another player.
  • -    Allows you to cast one spell from the Ancient spellbook or the Normal spellbook. Consumes runes even if you cancel the spell.

5.0 - General tips

For general tips I mean that tips on how to set up your inventory and all that stuff will be given.
First of all gather all the information about monsters you're willing to fight, be sure to know which prayers to use, which combat style to use, and also which gear to use. Do your best to keep it budget-friendly and also get the best items you could. Don't spend a big part of your budget just for 1 piece of your gear, for example: Don't buy a bandos chesplate if all your other items have to be dragon. Get something in between, Bandos chestplate costs 25M, you can buy an entire gear including weapon with 25M and still be very good.
Use right potions, for example: If you know that the monster you're going to fight requires a prayer activated all the time, bring some extra prayer or restore potions to prolong your trip.
Using spells and teleports is extremely useful so always bring a teleport tab instead of runes(if possible), to preserve some inventory space.
To get aknowledged about the monster you're willing to fight have a good use of forums which contain guides with useful information about bosses and other monsters, and also don't forget the wiki.

I hope that, even if this guide isn't finished yet, it can be useful. I'll update this topic within next few days with more information and format corrections.

Few things:
- Dragon darts are currently the best dps for ranged when paired with divine.
- Combination capes are missing entirely, they have better stats than a skillcape, should be mentioned. (max cape too)
- 3rd mage amulet is worse than fury, shouldn't get a mention
- Antifire potions are not mentioned, they should be
- SOL does preserve runes, you read the wiki description wrong. "Although it does not conserve a specific kind of rune like most staves, it has a chance of 35% to preserve runes on cast."
- You seem to hate gloves, void, bandos, arma and battle gloves need to be added to their sets and barrow gloves need to be mentioned
- Zamorakian spear needs to be mentioned
- Rare whips and d hasta shouldn't be mentioned
- Ags and zgs are barely useful for PvM in comparison to bgs and sgs, they should not be mentioned
- 3rd sets should be up at high budget, not medium
- Elite void should get mentioned, it has better stats than regular
- Guardian angel deserves a mention
- Double spacebar seems to be a common error in your writing, Ctrl + f and typing "  " in the search bar will let you find them

That's all I could find for now, appreciate the effort you've put into this guide, looking forward to more.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate that you take time to read this. I will add things that I've forgot, and I will consider removing/changing some things.

I have some points to be made as well.
  • Amulet of glory is better than amulet of power in every aspect.
  • Under low budget equipment it says that "although not all staves preserve runes, Master wand does not but it has a chance of 36% to preserve runes on cast." What you meant is that some staves have infinite amount of elemental runes (air, water, fire, earth) and some preserve runes. Examples: Mystic Lava Staff (fire+earth), Mystic mud staff (water+earth). Master wand certainly preserves runes, so fix that sentence.
  • Under low equipment bolts you should explain what emerald e, ruby e and diamond e bolts do.
  • Medium budget: 3rd melee has risen to 30m atm.
  • When talking about void you must mention that you have to wear gloves as well.
  • Since this part of the topic talks about budget, I would prefer abby whip over hasta (no reason to pay more for the same weapon)
  • Remove 3rd age amulet from 3rd mage gear (fury is better and the price is about the same)
  • As far as I know, Kebbit bolts are not working. Mary mentioned this in a topic a while back. Can't confirm if it's still true.
  • Staff of light preserves runes as well.
  • Non-tradable items: full slayer helm is missing.
  • Under potions you should explain how to actually use brews, so the stat nerfs won't affect you.
  • As Charr said, 3rd age gears are high budget, except 3rd mage gear.
  • You should talk about each weapons special attack as well, not just mention that they have one.

Overall, I do not approve including all this information in one big topic. You could have created separate topics in which you could have explained it all further without dragging it too long.
Since the topic is so large, don't expect noobs to read it. It just contains too much material. And for more experienced players it's already common knowledge.

Thank you for the pointers I will keep in mind them while updating the topic. Anyways I think it is better to keep everything in one place, sure if I would've made three different topics, like: PvM Equipment tips, PvM Consumables, PvM Prayers and Spells; they were shorter and I've could go more in depth but I prefer keeping all information in one place so whoever needs it, just as a reminder or whatever, can 'Ctrl+F' in this thread.

I would personally prefer to see Consumables and prayers in one topic and 2-3 separate Equipment/Pvming guides.
For example: Beginner's guide to PvMing, which would help with the gear (what and when to use) and also whom to kill to level up and get better gear.
Same for intermediate players and experienced players (high-level players).

When writing such guides bear in mind to keep those guides easy to follow (this guide is no way easy to follow, too many items) and you must expect that the reader doesn't know anything, don't leave out anything that you think should be common knowledge.

Actually yes, separting like that would be easier to follow, if I only thought about that before posting this lol.
Anyways people can easily find what they want to get information about by looking at the content table which just pops in to reader's eyes at the beginig of the thread.

It took me something about 5 hours to write it, but I didn't do it all at the same time, I spent something like 1 hour per day max for this..
Anyways it will be soon deleted, as I'm planing to make few in-depth guides who touch the same topics mentioned in this one, so it will be less confusionary and it will be easier to follow.
