IntroductionFirst off, the graphics card driver is a software that controls a computer's graphics card, also known as GPU.
You might want to update you graphics card drivers for the following reasons:
- You want a better performance of your GPU
- Your current drivers don't support OpenGL 1.5
- You want your drivers to stay updated
Identifying your graphics card model1. Open up Run and type in "dxdiag"
- On Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, choose Start and Run
- On Windows 8, move your mouse to the upper right corner until and select Apps. Search "Run" and click on it in the results.
- On Windows 10, right click the Start button and select Run.
2. From the upper tabs, select Display

3. Note down or remember the name of your device
Download and install a driver installerNote! You might require Administrator access!
1. Open a web browser, search for your manufacturer's homepage.
2. Select Support or Drivers section
3. Search for your model
4. Download your driver and run the installer file
5. Follow the instructions on the installer
