There's only 6 ways I know of getting gems:

  • Stealing from the gem stalls
  • Mining them from gem rocks
  • Mining them from shooting stars
  • Opening caskets
  • Farming kalphite monsters
  • Buying them from other players

True but I don't consider that a legit way of actually collecting gems though :P

It's like yeah, you know, that lv 2 man also drops coins, he's pretty legit for PvM :doge:

no for reals back when i mined for 99 mining i had collected like 5k uncuts just mining coals, mithrils, addys blabla

I guess it depends on your luck then, I always have an awful time trying to get gems when mining regular ores. Could be a legit method as you stated.

Gem rocks are amazing for uncuts if you have a dragon pickaxe :)

They are random though, as far as I'm aware.

100 percent prefer killing the kalphite workers compared to mining the rocks, especially since the rocks take FOREVER unless you use d pick spec.

1-2 casket each inventory is same as mining regular rocks imo.
