Check your gear interface, void increases the combat strength and accuracy by certain percentages.

Void mage gear is useless, when compared to battle set (even without b gloves). Mage and melee have just higher att bonus (compared to gwd armours), if I remember correctly, so that's debatable, but void mage is worse in every aspect..

For mage armour apparently not, since the bonus didn't show up for mage armour. I'll check again.
If indeed that bonus is still applied, void mage has higher att bonus, but for some reason it doesn't show up on equipment stats sheet. It does for melee/range gear.
