Black screen whilst starting up Windows 7
« on: February 01, 2015, 02:27:00 pm »
Hello I recently have a problem which is quite annoying. Every time I start up my PC I get a black screen after the Windows welcome screen. After a while the only thing that will pop up is the Teamviewer application, everything else remains black. I can open task manager and ending explorer.exe and then activating it again resolves the problem. However I can't find to seem a solution to permanently get rid of it.

Any thoughts?

Re-installing your OS fixes everything :p but it's kinda last resort if you can't find another solution.

There are 3 possibilities:

1. Virus attacked.

2. Windows Activation (If you are using a genuine windows and have activated the key, then this is not a cause for it)

3. Operating System files issues. (Try repairing the OS using the OS disk)

Last things to do is if none of the above can help, then it needs to install a clean copy of OS.

My old laptop done this.

I think the cause of this issue was because I went and got it cleared out of bad files and such and the shop installed a fake version of windows onto it. I am unsure what Windows version this was but I believe this was the cause.

Have you try starting up the computer in safe mode, so you can find out what is running in the background process on the task manager that might trigger it?  Alternatively, you could try running antivirus programs while on safe mode.

It somehow fixed itself after like 2 weeks. Don't know how but it's working fine for 2 days now.
