The Shooting star distraction and diversion is a new feature since 2 November 2014 that appears in Emps-World. After a previous star has been completely disappeared, another will crash down somewhere in Emps-World within 2 to 3 hours.

When a star crashes down every player currently online in that world will receive a message that varies according to the distance of the player to the star. A star can crash in a lot if different locations and it might be hard to find for some players. To receive a hint about the whereabouts of the latest fallen star players can go to the Observatory just north of Castle-Wars and talk to the Assistant. This feature is just for members. The Professor will tell you if a star is active.

Sometimes a star falls down in a members-only area, like the Kharidian desert, only members will be able to reach it then. It can also land in the Wilderness, making it dangerous to gather your stardust there.

A fallen star can be of different sizes, from just 1 layer to 10 layers. With every extra layer players need a higher Mining level to mine it, up to level 90 for 10 layers. When mined players will receive Stardust and a random gem occasionally. A player receives experience based on his Mining level when mining the star. Every crashed star has 1 Uncut onyx that a random player mining the star will receive.
With stardust players can buy several rewards from the Sprite that appears when the star has been fully mined, including the Dragon pickaxe.
