The Fire crystal upgrades Abyssal whips, staves, bows and their dyed variants, the Elemental bow and the Elemental staff to their fire elemental versions, consuming the crystal in the progress.

The upgrade is not reversable and makes the weapon more powerful but degradable. After 40,000 attacks in combat, the crystal is destroyed and only the original weapon remains. The Fire crystal puts a bleed effect on your enemy equal to 30% of your damage dealt.
