Obsidian claws is the only melee weapon with a dragonfire special attack. This special attack can be activated from about 10 steps away and fires a dragonfire breath at the target while standing still and then makes the player run towards the target. The special attack damage is registered later, to allow for a quick follow-up attack of any kind. It's special attack requires 50% energy and can hit up to 67, based on your melee strength bonus. However the special attack counts as dragonfire damage and can thus be affected by dragonfire protection (the hit can be reduced by dragonfire protection and the prayer magic protection, but not by melee protection) and is extra effective against melee armour as it counts as magic damage aswell.
