The Abyss is an area where people craft their runes and train their Runecrafting level. You need atleast 1 Rune essence in your inventory to use the rifts.
There are two diffrent ways to get in the Abyss.
You can either talk to the Mage of Zamorak who will ask you if he may teleport you to the Abyss or you can use the Abyss teleport which requires a Magic level of 90 and the Ancient spellbook.
