Quite a few changes ready for today. Please take your time and read through them! :)
Staking and the Duel Arena
I've decided to do an experiment with staking. We'll be limiting all stakes to 1M as maximum bet. Depending on the outcome of the experiment, we'll keep it this way, or limit stakes to maximum 10M per fight. If everything backfires, we'll just go back to how it used to be. I know that this may be frustrating for some players, but let me try to explain why I'm doing this.
In my opinion, gambling (=staking) is just frustrating gameplay. People are betting money until they lose it, that's the nature of gambling. Imho that just doesn't belong into games. Moreover, it also brings so much toxicity to the game. Players are often being upset about their losses and yell at each other, effectively creating a toxic environment for others. I've seen this too many times in global chats and would like to put an end to it. The game isn't about gambling, it's about training and leveling your character. Having an adventure, talking to friends and killing monsters. It's definitely NOT about gambling.
Highscores
It's been a while since I've last updated these. There's now ranks on player pages. So you'll always know your rank in a certain skill. Moreover, you can now also go back and forth 10 pages at once. You can also jump to a specific page by entering the page number in the highscores link.

Why does 100 jump to page 101? Because computers start counting at 0 and that leaves an offset of 1 to natural numbers. ::)
Slayer pets
We're getting more pets, yay! Just like hatchling dragons, certain slayer monsters have received pet drops:- Abyssal demon
- Basilisk
- Cockatrice
- Kurask
Their drop chance is 1 in 1000.
Following things have been updated:- Fighter torso scaling up to level 70 is just too much. It now caps at level 60 with a +6 strength bonus.
- Morrigan javelin special attack adjusted. Before the update, the bleeding effect was 80% of the total hit. The bleeding effect now is 120% of the total hit. To cope with this change, the special attack hit now deals 60%. Simply said, 40% of the initial hit has been converted into bleeding damage.
- Morrigan axe special attack costs changed from 25% to 30%. Their maxhit has been lowered by 5% and accuracy buffed by 5%. You could just deal too much damage in a too short amount of time.
- Dark bow special attack adjusted. The special attack's max hit was reduced by 20%. However, if you now use dragon arrows with the bow, it'll boost your hit by flat 8 damage. This lowers the maximum hit of the bow from 52/52 to 48/48. It just shouldn't be possible imo to 1 shot somebody completely. To cope with this nerf, I've increased the special attack's accuracy by 20%. This will make the bow more powerful in fights with good armours and high defence levels.
- Void equipment, defenders and fighter torso are now turned into more cash if lost in the wilderness. A full void knight set turns into 800k, fighter torso into 240k and dragon defender into 180k cash.
- Further improvements to water and lava planes.
- Ferocious rings now have an Ancient Caves teleport option that place you directly near Shenven.
- Shenven now wears a Slayer master cape.
- Slayer experiences for bosses has been multiplied by 4. Such tasks should really be worth your time, because they are difficult and can take a while.
- Buggy slayer tasks have been fixed. You'll no longer encounter tasks that cannot be completed. Also, Chaeldar and Hundig now correctly can reset your task once for free.
- Slayer experience gains for bosses has been increased.
Please don't be too upset about the staking changes. It's an experiment for now and if it fails, I'll definitely revert it back how it used to be. I just want to do do something against the gambling problem and its resulting toxicity in emps. :)

Awesome update... I dont stake myself but maby limit how many stakes can be done in 24 hours? instead of the money amount. i love to see more pets :)

Love the pets but sadly still no frosty. In the other hand, good that those bugs are fixed with slayer and I love the update about duel arena, it should reduce the amount of salt coming from there.

Still with a +2 str over bcp, this is a step in the right direction but meh.

It's a javelin, not a spear. Aside from that this looks good.

This does finally make me want to try them out. It should be noted that gwd minions and any monster you encounter before jad still doesn't get you your slayer helmet boost.

That update is an absolute necessity, it is very painful to kill jads minions for 62 waves without any kind of damage boost.

This is one of the most accurate changes ever made. I am sure these changes will leave a great impact on the game and enchance the economy in general. You have made the right choice, Thomy. :)

That is unfortunate, the only thing that made me log online a few times a month was due to the reason that i loved to watch some fun high stakes, didnt even have to stake myself. I took pleasure in watching the high stakes.

That kinda kills the beauty of the game. The fact that you decide what pleasure we are gonna get out of the game.
I started playing this game in 2008 with some irl friends, it all started with skilling and pking and having an adventure as you say.
But as time evolved, they lost their interest. I didn't, i found new ones. Staking was one of them. And it held me here for years.
And another thing you just did, you put us all under the same segment. You basically said what we are supposed to do in this game and what we are not supposed to do in this game. You defined the game as some would define how to live life.
A common life definition: Stay healthy, get a good education, get a good job, marry, get kids. All A4.
Emps World's new definition: Having an adventure, talking to friends and killing monsters. It's definitely NOT about gambling.
Life isn't all about making it how the society usually does. Its about making it how you want it.

Now[...]. I can understand. You as the mother of this game. As a mother, you dont want to treat your kid too much. You dont want him to get fat. So when you made the "only cash staking" update. It was like a mother telling her child; Alrighty son. You are starting to get fat. No more candy in weekdays, only in the weekends now.
But when you took all of it away, NO MORE CANDY? Can you imagine how a 12 year old kid will feel on a saturday evening, when his own mother wont give him any candy? You are giving a 12 year old kid cabbages and tune, that's what you are doing right now.

I am gonna be straight and honest with you. The players that was online everyday, just standing there in duel arena, either begging for money, watching stakes or actually staking. That is many % of our community. Taking a risk on the fact they will come back and stake some more if this update fails. Wont be such a good idea, i believe.
Lets say there is 80 players ingame. 8 of those players are around duel arena just doing what they all do. Wasting their time. But when you think about it. That is 10% of the users online. Player population will sink down to 72 players online, and that wont look healthy from the perspective of new/potential new player (Even if this isn't an accurate number, it will add up in the long run cause you cant really tell what kinda players play on this and this time)
Buisness wise, bad idea. But hey what do i know. Just taking my buisness bachelor in finance and administration while working as a "small" key account manager on the side ::)

For the stakes, I think that's a pretty good idea. I mean, making a limit for the amount of stakes is pretty good. But people are now doing the same stakes with a ''middleman''. So this ''middleman'' way to do high stake will just create more scam.

Look at this this is a great Example
what was happening to the game for years! i didnt got the full testimony that this was done with hacks , but i got the full testimony that its unfair that people had amounts of that in their bank

In my election Staking is one of the things what ruined this game.
No its not all bad. also Emps World is one of the best RSPS's ever and im playing it for like 10 years now (:
The worst part about it is that it Actually had to be EMPS SCAPE FOREVER. when it turned in WORLD it f..... up
change it all back in SCAPE like everything and you will get back 800+ players or even more all that new stuff is not better WE LIKE IT OLDSKOOL thats the truth hopefull thomy will listen to me and Thomy if you wanna know more JUST ASK ME but for now i did my word. YOU GOT NOTHING TO LOSE JUST DO IT!
