Give the special a small amount of range, maybe 3-5 squares.
Would give mages the ability to use it in combat, and would just make it fun to use all around. And let us use the special when we are farther away from enemies....would be a bit more fun, and would grant some small strategies in pvp.

The whole dragonfire shield thingy is about Melee style, why mage? Books are way more useful than dfs in Mage style, besides their low cost.

Why not? Mages don't have much going for them except for op barrage and teleblock.
Melle has claws which can easily cut down magers (if you can get to them)
It just depends on your opinion in the end. The point of the post was to give it some range, just for fun, for use at dragons and king black dragon for rangers with crossbows, etc.
