You will for black/bronze/iron/steel/mith/brutal dragons, so that point still stands.
true , mith dragons can sometimes kill a player easily if they weren't paying attention for a little while.

Magic protect works fully -> use ranged, magic or d hally.

i love this idea, because having same old boring bandos set as the best set in game just sucks.

the arm can function as a ely in rs when killing drags
the firebreath will damage you 25% less 75% of the time
