Clan Chat Moderations
« on: July 18, 2015, 02:21:27 am »
There should be an option for Moderators or other staff members to become "Invisible" in clan chats (Their names wouldn't be there when members scroll through the clan members)

It would allow staff members to moderate clan chats more easily, since the offenders wouldn't know the staff member was watching. This would be helpful since whenever anyone asks a staff member to help in a clan chat, the offenders shut up as soon as they join, and there isn't any proof.

This is what ::hidecrown is for, I presume. This would cause more problems for people needing help, in my opinion.

He's not talking about the crown.

IMO their  names should be listed above normal players so if someone needs help it will be much easier to find em.

I meant as a toggleable feature, used only for certain situations,  not for permanent use. God damn.

Not really something that is needed IMO. If the user stops as soon as a staff member joins the cc, he stops, isn't that the whole point. If the offense needs a mute you could make a screenshot and report it to the helpdesk. Not something that needs to have dev time spent on it.

As soon as the staff member leaves they start again. And 3/4 of our players don't even know the forums exist. Anyway,  I see your point.

Also in such occasions I used to login on another account to catch the offender red handed, if the staff member would've been smart he would've done the same.

I wanted to suggest CC ranks, for example, CC mod can kick someone from cc.. now just owner can kick..
Actually, i want  CC ranks in game.

If I remember correctly back when I was playing staff members could /kick themselves from the clan chat and still remain within it. I did this quite a lot, however I'm not sure if it still works but it did also remove the username from the main list.

Could any of the staff members confirm?

Yes staff members can still kick people out of clans with the /kick [username] code.

Back to the topic.
I think it isn't really needed. Exactly what charr said, if they will start using offensive language again when the staff member is gone, make a screenshot and post it at the helpdesk section.
