Title: broadcast
Post by: Hmm2 on November 01, 2014, 12:47:23 pm
i've seen most of the best rsps's and rs itself they all have a broadcast feature.for those who don't know what is broadcast,
it is a feature that lets everyone online know about the achievement you have just done.e.g. lets say i received a tassy,
a message in the chat box will say: "hmm2 has received a bandos tassets drop"  and it doesn't only include drops,it includes other achievements like 99's and 20m+exp
so what are your thoughts ?

i don't really like it it will be annoying to see every few seconds that someone achieved something and it's not really necessary.
so i disagree

So you are saying that people is achieving 99's every few seconds, or getting etc. bandos items every few seconds? haha, yeah right.

I think you got the idea of what I had said It's not only about seconds but this game have 300+ players so at-least there will be someone who is achieving something every 5-10min
and as i said it's not necessary it's kinda useless

actually i forgot to mention that but this is how it works in rs. then if you don't like it you just turn it off, good thinking :)

Some support. But it might get annoying for players to get spammed every time they get a rare drop. (it will happen, trust me)

I read the entire topic, if you are implying i didn't. But can you please specify what you mean by turning it off? Do you mean not letting other players' see your acheivements, or not seeing other players' acheivements, or both?

actually it does get annoying if anyone who gets a good drop gets pm-spammed but there is always simple a simple solution to this. turn private to friends only or the broadcast feature could have an option not to announce your achievements. so i don't think it is a good reason not to add it in the game.

I didn't know you could do friends only.

Full support.

If someone gets a tassy and it's notified to the others, that pretty much means doing high stakes should be announced. And i doubt that anyone wants to let out a BC announcing that they won 1 bil stake .

naah staking has nothing to do with this because it is not an achievement in anyway, just pure luck without any effort whatsoever.

We'd have to be very specific on this to make it work, else people will just spam it.

I agree, nonetheless.
