Black Mark System
« on: October 09, 2014, 03:04:52 pm »
The Black Mark System:
  • Each Report on a player receives them 5 Black Marks.
  • When a player reaches 50 Black Marks he/she receives an hour ban/mute.
  • When a player reaches 100 Black Marks he/she receives a 1 day ban/mute.
I deem this a sensible suggestion, especially when nothing really gets done at the moment when you report someone via the Report Abuse button. Of course, bans and mutes can be altered to a different number of Black Marks and a different time period of punishment.

I don't disagree with the suggestion but here is a few questions that may pose interest.

Is it really needed? We have the help-desk; I'm sure if you really wanted to report someone that badly the help desk is your best option.

Will it be used properly? When we had black marks people use to abuse the heck out of it. Reporting you for some of the most stupid reasons.

Isn't this easy to abuse by reporting one person with a huge crowd of players?

I understand what damage this could do if abused however, being able to report 1 person every 5-10 minutes could help.

Isn't this easy to abuse by reporting one person with a huge crowd of players?
The person asking other people to report someone would be considered as 'Encouraging others to break rules' and the people actually listening to this person will be 'False Reporting'. All in all, they're all in the wrong and action should be taken against them if need be.

I totally Agree with Kane, you know.. some players might report you for a ridiculous reason.

I may not be the best, but I'm definitely not like the rest.

I had 100 blackmarks being a moderator.

I do agree on once specific point; mute
That's cause I think that regular players should not be responsible or have a chance to ban someone. And because you wont just blackmark someone for botting you call a staff member and let the ban do it's magic.

But if someone keeps trashtalking giving him a blackmark before the ingnore list, that can result in a mute in the future. Agreed

OT:
I disagree with reintroducing the black mark system.  I think that it's pretty obvious as to why I disagree.

EDIT:  If not, I suppose that I could explain if prompted.
