He got his money back from the exchange without the item, so overall he didn't loose or gain anything.

Since the item was not lost and I cannot really investigate the problem in any more detail, we can close this bug report. It's likely that your task somehow got cancelled. Thanks a lot for your time. If you ever come across something like this again, please just make another bug report.
