Game crashing.
« on: January 07, 2015, 11:47:48 pm »
When I click on the Emps-World thumbnail to minimize it, it crashes everytime, & I have to restart the client. If I click on the thumbnail I'm trying to go to, Chrome for example, then it doesn't crash. Only when I minimize it by clicking on it. Not sure if there's anything anyone can do to help, but it's just kind of annoying, and if there's a setting or something I can do to fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Most likely an intel driver related issue. I'll see that I can get a fix for this though.

EDIT: I've applied a client update that sends the client to sleep when you minimize it. It's rendering a maximum of 5fps in that sleep mode. Can you restart your client and check if minimizing the client is working properly now?

Still having the same issue. Maybe it's just something related to my PC considering I don't see anyone else with related issues.

It's most likely a graphic driver related issue. Something seems to go wrong when you minimize the game.

Any idea on how to fix that?

See if you can get an updated Intel driver for your laptop. This is probably what you need: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu
Please bear in mind that I only suggest to update your graphics driver if you have one GPU. If your laptop has a graphic cards and a graphic chip, don't do that!

I do have graphic cards. I also have a couple friends who I play with, and I asked them to minimize their screens and see if they have the same problem, and they all did.

Is it possible that your friends have a similar GPU model? All playing on an intel chip? If you have a 2nd graphics card (a better one) can you try running Emps-World on it to see if it betters?

Do you have the same problem while minimizing?

Problem seems to be fixed when I used the Classic graphics.

Classic graphics make no use of your GPU. I highly recommend you still use the openGL mode for better performance.

I've googled the issue again and the only solution I could find was upgrading your graphics driver. Since the Emps-World application isn't crashing there isn't much of an error report that I can take a look at, sorry.

It's cool homie. I just don't understand why it's doing it now, but not back in Emps-Scape, unless it is just because of the new graphics. I'll grab a better graphics drive when I can afford it, haha. Thanks for the help though man. You can lock & move it now.

It's not the GPU that matters, it's the drivers that are installed on your computer. I'm pretty sure that those are outdated.
