Title: emps-world not reachable
Post by: Roward12 on January 16, 2016, 08:50:16 am
I have only seen one case of this on the forums so far and it's under 'resolved' probably due to inactivity from the poster.

But basically the problem has come back and now it's onto me. Whenever i try to log into my account it says that emps-world cannot be reached because it appears to be offline even though it's clearly not since the player online meter is constantly changing meaning that i am the only person that can't log in.

I thought that maybe playing on the browser would make me able to log in but i can't play on there because it gives me the error that i have disabled self-signed applications. Even after putting emps-world on the exceptions list it's still not working and now i have no clue.

i hope that someone can help me with this problem.

greetings,
Roward

This definitely looks like your computer blocking the application from connecting. What OS are you using? I also highly recommend to not use the webclient, because some browsers dropped the support for java applets a while ago.

Have you tried downloading the client executable yet? https://emps-world.net/Emps-World.exe

Yes, i dont think you understand.

I use the executeable and it says i cant reach emps-world, and i cant even reach the login page when i try to use the browser but i dont think reaching the login page using the browser would be a solution.

The problem is probably a block that doesn't allow self-signed applications to run.

You can surely avoid that block by adding Emps-World as an exception to whatever program (also if the OS does so) blocks the application?

i've already added the emps-scape to the Java exception list.
the adress i put in the exceptionlist is https://emps-world.net
i'm pretty sure that is correct.

do you maybe have instructions towards putting the website in a different exception list that might be from the OG?

Can you try to get the executable (.exe) to start? I'm sorry, but I cannot do too much when your computer blocks the game from connecting. I think that once you get the executable to work, the connection issue also will be gone.

I have tried the .exe before but it appears to do the exact same thing as the .jar file.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can offer you any further assistance in the matter, I have too little details of your entire setup. If you're in a shared network or something similar, you could ask your administrator to allow the program, else it's your computer and/or anti virus program that blocks the game (this has nothing to do with the Java exception list!).

There isn't really anything I can do from the application side when the actual game connection is blocked, it's out of the range of my influence.

Ill try to do some research into it and if i find a fix i'll post it here just in case someone else gets it and needs a fix.

Once again I'm sorry, but I cannot do anything to fix it without knowing like every detail in your network. Anyway, thanks for contacting us. If you ever find a fix to the problem, please let us know it. I'd be interested in seeing what blocked Emps-World in the very end.
